He sat back in the chair, as it creaked under his massive stature. "I'm Niko." I nod, writing it down. It seems he knows his name. "So, do you mind telling me why you're in here?” He shrugged. "Hit and run." I nod, writing that down. "And did you do it?" He focused those brown eyes on me, fixed on my face. "Yes." I nod slowly. "Okay. And did you mean to?" "No." I look up at him. "No?" "No." He stated lowly.

The mere mention of Bennet's name is like acid melting in my throat. "Sister... I assure you, I am not guilty of Kelly's death. I swear on behalf of Papa, but I promise I really had nothing to do with it!" Nicky answered quickly. I heard conviction in her voice which tells me she was telling the truth. I was a bit relieved. "But why are they accusing you? You were there at the place where Kelly died. And someone saw you holding the gun and..." I couldn't finish what I was going to say because I didn't know what word to follow it, I'm confused.

But Nicky continued. “I had to take a longer break than usual maternity cases due to the accident.” The last word she mentioned pierced my heart fiercely again. I blame myself so badly for shutting myself out from anything that had to do with Nicky. I begged Justin not to mention her name or anything about her. Now, even if Justin knew about what happened back then, I can’t blame him for not telling me. This thought made me groan in pain even more. “Don’t despair so much. We got who the criminal was right away, and he is rotting in prison as we speak, so I am fine with it,” Nicky spoke with calmness.

There was the same moustache that spread out his lip line. “What’s going on here?” I questioned, unsure of what move to make right at this moment. Boss Devereaux stood up and walked to the visual display. Her hand reached for the remote and a news began to play. Tapes of various news casters immediately commenced. “Breaking news! Model Nikki Fox is a dirty one after all. See the insiders of how she traffics people in Mexico.” Wait what? “Nikki Fox got arrested for being involved in a dirty crime she tried so much to hide. But, as always, the truth will always prevail.”

I shot back, my brows pulling together in a tight frown, the weight of his words hitting me square in the chest. Nikolai gave a sharp nod, flicking non-existent cigarette ash onto the floor, lowering his voice to a grave rumble. Maybe they deserved what they got from him but I sure as hell didn't deserve that. Well I suppose my crime was getting into his car." Lucille sighed, getting up.
