"You won't let me go, right." A smile relaxes his face as he hears me putting so much trust in his hands. "I promise I'll hold onto you. I won't let you go." Shivering in the breeze, I let him pull me towards the waves. Timidly I place a toe in. "I have an idea," he scoops me into his arms and holds me tightly to his chest. "Wrap your arms and legs around me," he insists. "I'll hold you, you hold me. If we are both holding on to each other, we can't lose one another."

Digging deep into my trembling arms. “Let go!” She screamed. I tried to balance myself but she was stronger. I tried my best and then I took the dagger back. I hold the dagger daring her to act but she stepped forward glaring at me. She held my hand back and we both held the dagger. No of us let go and before I could figure what was happening she launch at me again. A loud cry escaped my lips, the sound birds flying by filled the air. A sharp pain pierced through my shoulder in between my collarbone.

Regina stroked her hand up and down Damien’s arm. “I’ve often wished she would. Sometimes I think these little episodes are her way of letting me… letting us know she’s still here. But in truth, they may only be an involuntary physical reaction. This is not fragile this is not temporary this is something we chose something we are still choosing and that makes it stronger than anything we had before I tighten my hold on his hand just slightly and he responds without looking his grip steady and warm. Holding on not out of fear but because we finally understand what it means to have something worth keeping.

All was laid bare in that look and it was then that I truly understood the hold I had on him.
