Ruby tried explaining-but with the way things were, nick looked totally confused. "Ok, boy. That's enough. However, I actually came here to warn you. You have three supernatural powers which you inherited from me. I am a very great grandma of yours. I'm in the seventeenth line of your family generation. I know you may not understand. But however, your powers are: one-the ability to see ghosts. Two- you have a special word which you can say anytime to get out of trouble but you will later get to know the word as you grow. And three- I wouldn't tell you now. You might disclose it to other people. And like I said, you will get to know it as you grow."

Mason stood up and looked around to make sure everyone got his attention. "Anyone that disrespects Gwyneth disrespects Marcus and me. This is forest and eclipse pack territory. Heck, we own everything, and so does our mate. Marcus and I will not take it likely. I do not know the stories you have heard, and you can choose to believe whatever you want, but I will deal with whoever disrespects my Luna, and so would Marcus and you all know we can be ruthless." he said and sat down. I touched his hands and smiled.

“Oh, I’ve been really busy with schoolwork. I don’t have time to play.” Before he could say anything else, I pushed open the private room door and threw my arms around Kitty. There weren’t many classmates from our class attending. Kitty was one of the few people I genuinely got along with. For some reason, Betty hadn’t shown up this time—which, frankly, made things a bit easier. But what really got under my skin was how Leo kept staring at me the entire time. He even picked food from the spread on the table and placed it on my plate, saying it was my favorite.

“You’re the first date I’ve taken here.” Sophia frowned in confusion at my confession. “Why?” I shrugged. “No other places are open that serve excellent food and drinks at this time of night. Nothing is worth going to for a first date with you.” Sophia stares at her lap, and her features darken. I wonder what she’s thinking?

No one acknowledged me. Through the rearview mirror, I caught Alexander’s reflection—his sharp eyes pinned on me, expression so dark, so intense, I half-expected him to wrap his fingers around my throat. The only thing holding him back was the obvious fact that I wasn’t in my right mind. Or maybe because I was too far out of his reach. Either way. Orbot, unfazed, started the car. As we pulled out of the alleyway, soft music filled the silence. Starboy by The Weeknd, playing at a low volume.

So familiar. I just nodded and let out a quiet "Mm." Didn't stop him. Just opened the door and stepped out like I'd rehearsed it. Michael didn't hesitate either—hit the gas and vanished. I waited outside the County Clerk's Office the whole day, like I was waiting for some kind of answer. And weirdly? I felt calm. Like my phone—dead silent. Not a single buzz. Even when the office closed, he never came back. No call. No text. Nothing.

I looked at him from head to toe and asked "But you are already dressed" I said. He did not say anything, he just avoided eye contact and i could see his ears turning red. Vincent Blackwood was actually getting shy. That was something i did not expect to see in this life time. He did not say anything and just walked out of the room.

Liam had⁠ one arm⁠ behind her.⁠ And Ava looked around. ‌ Nobody noticed. She looked carefully. This. This was it. Not s⁠uccess. ‍Not hea⁠lin‍g. Not survival. ‌This. People.‍ N‌oise. Th‍e feeling tha‍t nobody w‌as leaving.
