Shadow's Essence

Shadow's Essence

Now its once-grand structures sagged like dying beasts, their stone facades crumbling, their foundations slowly sinking into the soft earth where drainage systems had long since failed. Above, suspended in arrogant glory, soared the true city of Noctis Lumen. Its crystalline towers captured moonlight and transformed it, casting prisms of cold brilliance across the night sky. Those towers defied natural law, their impossible geometries sustained by complex weaves of elemental magic. The nobility lived up there, among the stars, while she and the other dregs of society scrabbled for existence in the festering wound that stretched beneath their feet.

Luna's Perfect Revenge

Luna's Perfect Revenge

His white robes glinted under the moonlight and his silver hair added to his majestic presence. “The Noctilux Pack is blessed by the Moon Goddess tonight,” Sigmund proclaimed loudly, cutting through the festive noise. “Fortune shall favour us all.” The guests cheered and applauded, and some even knelt in respect. Lennon gave Sigmund a slight bow, then looked up at the sky with pride. It’s just a symbol. Nothing is wrong. Everything is proceeding as it should.

LUNE

But even with magic on his side, he could not overcome the werewolves' wrath. The final battle came on the night of the Red Moon, a rare celestial event that painted the sky in blood. The werewolves believed it to be a sign from the gods, a blessing for their vengeance. Under the blood-red sky, they gathered their forces for a final assault on the human capital. Leoric, though aged and wounded, led the charge. His body, once weakened by years of peace, was now fueled by rage and the desire for justice. Fenrir, ever by his side, howled as they descended upon the city.

Moonlit Shadows

Moonlit Shadows

Niamh, drawing from her knowledge of ancient texts, remarked, "There are legends of a time when neither day nor night reigned, where creation and dissolution danced in harmony." Elysia, inspired by the collective insights of her companions and feeling a deep, intuitive pull, voiced her realization, "It's twilight! The moment between day and night, where light and dark merge. It represents balance, transition, and harmony." Aeliana's ever-shifting form seemed to solidify for a moment, a smile playing on her ethereal lips. "Correct, Elysia. Twilight is the embodiment of balance, the bridge between dichotomies. It's where possibilities are endless, and realities converge."

one of the best novels of this site. well written and great story. The only problem is Monday you get a lot of pages and chapters, and the rest of the week you get a page a day. Come on the author and this site can do better. Really about to stop reading because of this.

Dark of Night

Dark of Night

The incantation to muffle the sights and sounds around us does little good to stop the banshee’s screams. I grab his hands and chant with him. “Clausus sonare. Angustos lux. Hoc aspectu in domum custodire ab omni malo. Clausus sonare. Angustos lux. Hoc aspectu in domum custodire ab omni malo.”

The Lycan king's Claim

Lucien frowned. "You know him?" Aurel lowered their head. "He was my brother." The words struck us like lightning. My heart skipped. "Brother?" Aurel nodded slowly. "He was once..." "...the Second Celestial Guardian." Noctis smiled faintly. "Once." "But that world no longer exists." Dark mist gathered around him, swallowing the broken floor beneath his feet. "The Void gave me truth." "It showed me what the Moon Goddess never would." Aurel stepped forward.

Lucid Curse

Lucid Curse

Because Yin, truly, was a menace in fluffy disguise. Even now, as he casually leaned against the vending machine, pretending to be just another pretty intern with slightly mystical hair, his thoughts were spiraling delightfully into mythical gossip and dangerous curiosity. The story, according to Shu—and a few gossipy thunder spirits—went like this: Nexus, the land god before his sudden disappearance, had tamed something that should not have been tamed. A primal, ancient beast. One of the original calamity spirits. A Fenrisúlfr.
