I said without missing a beat. I’m not Noah. Noah’s probably buried under that ridiculous king-size pillow he swears is orthopedic, drooling on Egyptian cotton sheets while I play doorman. But slapping his last name on myself always gave me a small, stupid thrill. Noah Smith sounded better on the back of a jersey than Reed Johnson ever would. The guy gave me a quick once-over, then a weird little smirk. “Need you to sign here.” I took the stylus and scrawled Noah Smith in messy cursive. He handed over a thick padded envelope, bigger than I expected. “Have fun,” he said with another wink before turning away.

It was stamped in gold on the spine: "Celestial Mechanics: A Study of Universal Harmony." I flipped it open, and my breath caught. It was a first edition. The sort of book that would have been at home in a museum, not on the doorstep of a college student. The hot lines I knew, and sure enough when 1 opened the envelope there were a few brief words in writing l was familiar with. "For your research. Don't ask questions." No signature. No explanation. That is the whole speech, Reed in that same tight script.

Clara smiled at the middle aged man seated opposite her as he signed the papers in his presence. He was done signing and looked up at her with a smile too. “I am very sure it would be nice doing business with you Miss. Harper.” Mr. Norman said with a wide smile. “Of course, Mr. Norman. I am looking forward to our plans together.” Clara replied as she checked the papers. She checked if his signature was everywhere it was supposed to be and it was.

Norman then places his index fingers together and presses them against his lips as he ponders over the information he just read. Smiling even more, since the prince doesn't wear her mark on his shoulder, he still has a chance to claim his Enchantress as his.

I heard you had some hot-shot writer asking you all sorts of questions,” Norma paused, looking hesitant for a second, “That is if I'm allowed to ask and you want to talk about it?” “It's going pretty good.
