CHAPTER 51: SHE'S NERVOUS. NOAH'S POV The nightmare comes again, the same relentless images that chase me through the dark. I wake up with a start, breath heaving, sweat clinging to my skin. I guess my plans to move in might have brought it back again.

After the boys had left my room, I went through my bag and pulled out my favorite book, Night Flame, by Catherine Hart. I sat back in my chair by the window, prepared to spend the rest of the afternoon reading when a shiver ran down my spine. I jumped out of my seat and spun around to see a pair of yellow eyes glowing in the corner of the room. As those eyes drew closer to me, I realized that it was Simon, the fae that came to warn me the other day.

It took her a lot longer this time to settle down and fall back asleep. When morning came, Jess was still not truly asleep, her eyes might have been closed, but her mind wasn’t shut off. Unseeable pictures flashed before her closed eyes, forcing her to focus on them, only to turn into a horror show. A hand fell on Jess’s shoulder, she jumped up from0 the bed and rushed away from the hand. When Jess’s adrenaline mellowed out, Jess focused and realized that the hand that touched her wasn’t a ghost, but a real person, Joshua to be specific. He looked at her, creases run along his forehead.

She knew her nightmare will soon turn to reality and this nightmarish reality will make her life hell. Elena Singh was a 22 years old working woman like every normal women but was her life really normal like others? She was unique, she was talented, she was brave, she was independent yet she was terrified, not of anyone else but herself. Why? Because she saw dreams, or you can call them nightmar JJes, and because whatever she dreams comes true. Lately, She gets these weirdly terrifying nightmares which are scarier than any other nightmare she saw. My neck muscles feel strained, and I wonder if I managed to scream in my sleep even if I couldn’t in my nightmare. I yank the comforter off my sweaty body and make for the bathing chamber. No way in hell do I want to fall back asleep and return to that terrifying image. I go through the motions of getting ready for training, the sense of familiarity a comfort after such a horrifying nightmare. By the time I’m ready though, I’m an hour early. I draw back the curtains, allowing in the sunlight, hoping it chases away all the shadows. I start to replay the nightmare in my mind, but I stop when Owen brings up the letter. I feel no need to revisit the gory scene in the forest.
