They all looked at themselves in confusion. “Are you expecting something?” Colt asked. “No, I am not,” Linda said as she took the note from him and dismissed him. “What does the note say, and who is it from?” Ruby asked eagerly. Linda opened the note and read through, and horror and dread instantly filled her eyes.

I have no doubt that you will retrieve it from whoever in the society took it and return it to its rightful place, which is the third floorboard from the window in the fifth room on the left. I am yours forever, L I covered my mouth with one hand while the other gave the note to Nora for her to read. She handled the centuries old paper just as carefully as I had, while she read it aloud. When she was finished, she looked at me with wide eyes and an opened mouth, but said nothing.

THE NOTE Everyone was quiet. They were all looking at me. Waiting. I hated when people stared. I opened the paper with shaky fingers. My heart was doing too much for a piece of paper. “I got the same drink you were having earlier. Didn’t know what you liked. Hope your day’s been okay. —L” That was it. Four lines. Simple. But something about it made the air feel heavier. I didn’t say anything. Just read it again. And again.

Love Notes in the Chaos Serena’s POV It starts with a note on the coffee maker. Morning, beautiful. Coffee’s on me today. – B I smile, running my fingers over the little yellow sticky note, still groggy from getting the kids ready. Bill must’ve left it before heading to work. The coffee is already brewed, hot and waiting, and as I take my first sip, I let out a soft sigh.

One title caught his attention. It hadn't been there earlier. Or perhaps he simply hadn't noticed it. A thin blue journal. No title. He pulled it free. The dust behind it was lighter. Someone had moved it recently. Inside the cover was a handwritten note. Not Claire's. Not Daniel's. The ink was fresh. Only months old. Sebastian, if you're the one reading this, then I was right. You notice details before people do. Sebastian's heartbeat quickened. The note continued.

He is looking at me. Neva beside him, close in the way that has settled between them since the record office conversation — not performative, not announced, simply the proximity of two people who have decided this is where they stand. Her notebook is open. She will write the notation of this. She will add it to the eastern wall record, below the last entry, in her hand beside the cartographer's.

Beneath it, a single handwritten note, the same careful hand from the pressure marks in Renata’s notebook. She’s the one who finally breaks the pattern. I’d like to see how.

= Nigel's Note = I read the first page. "Amber, I'm here!!" Nigel suddenly jumped out from the CR I think. I turned to him. "I thought you're not here. Hi Nigel," I smiled at him. I was surprised when it ran and picked up the notebook I had opened earlier and closed it. He turned to me. "You saw it?" He asked hugging his notebook. "Eh? Saw what?" I asked with my eyebrows fluttered. "You read my notes?" He shrugged. "Nope why? ..... Wait. It's your private stuff," but I plan to read the content if he just didn't catch me.
