Novel About Wolves の小説・ストーリー

But instead of old stories from my grandmother’s life, the pages were scrawled with strange symbols and sketches—shorthand in her handwriting explaining the purpose of different runes and sigils. Flipping through the pages, there were sketches of wolves, and the last page that she’d written in had a detailed rendition of a nightmarish wolf-beast that made my blood run cold at the sight of it, it’s eyes smudged over with charcoal in the shape of a protective rune. My heart raced when I realized what I was holding. This was no ordinary journal, it was a spell book.

- The girl nodded. -Although only the first part of the novel, the other part of the manuscript is still being written so I don't know the end but I liked the story a lot, I want to know what happens with their daughter and the wolf that she claims. I admire the protagonist. She is very efficient and strong, and she doesn't care what others say about her- -Oh, it sounds interesting, Izen will take it- he announced to the wolf, putting the manuscript inside her tunic.

But the wolves did, of course, sniffing them out and killing them when done feasting on the girls. One wolf ate away at the hostess’s beautiful and carefully made-up face. Werewolves consider the eyes to be a delicacy. Another ripped open a girl’s gown, bearing her breasts, breaking her ribs, clawing out the heart and devouring it, still beating, as it squirted thick dark blood.

The air was cold, and the night was dark. But it doesn’t matter for the young wolf. What is cold to his thick, coarse fur– what is dark for his eyes that sees better in the shadows? This is his first night as a Delta Guard. Finally, a part of the pack and not just a litter pup. He runs through the woods, feeling the tree branches snap as he passes them by. Squirrels and rabbits, foxes and deers, all make way as they sense him near. Is this what freedom feels like? Is this what power is? The wilderness calls and he answers.

Certainly in werewolf communities. A wolf was a proud and territorial animal. That’s why between Alpha’s who weren’t from the same summit, there were always testosterone driven stand-offs. I remember when Pernwél told me about her first encounter with Alpha Zane at Green Valley, the same way I recalled Beta Nico. Normally ranked wolves gave me shudders, after what happened at my old pack. How things can change, I thought. Now, I, myself was mated to one, becoming Beta of Grey Moon. “All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.” Jake burst through my thoughts carrying wise words on his tongue.

Dean’s POV continued- The cells are usually kept pretty dark. Since the wolves have better night vision it’s not a problem for them, but when we turn the bright spot lights on it sure makes it a lot worse for them too. We keep the observation area dark so the rogue can’t see everyone in the room. I decided not to tell Alec and Zander because, well, I still wanted to have a little fun. We got to the interrogation area and I held up a hand so they knew to hold back a bit, then I gave the signal for the lights. The flinching and barely audibly cursing coming from the wolves? Worth it. It took a second for them to recover and I tried my best to hide my smirk as Alec looked at me.

He drinks beer while sharing stories with his friends. Vesper made her way to the second-floor library area. She stared at the mountain of books in front of her. Then she moves her way to the history section, where she pulls out a book titled: Wolves 1900. It shows a summary of the life of werewolves in the 1900s and how they protected themselves against the blood hunters. She got another book titled “Vanishing Wolf, a Memoir” Her eyes start to widen as she reads the book.

She was certain he had to be a large wolf, and he must be a lot more ferocious looking than that stupid Rider. Finding it odd that she was thinking about which wolf was the most handsome, Everly shook her head to clear it and then returned her attention to her book. She was almost three-fourths of the way through the book now, and she still hadn’t found anything, but she thought that the book might be getting to a part that included something useful because it was talking about wolf shifters interacting with humans and how it was important for wolf shifters to keep their abilities secret from those who were not able to shift into wolves.

Her voice was quiet, but heavy. “The wolves of the Eclipse.” Luka frowned. “What about them?” She lifted her gaze, and for the first time since waking, she looked truly, deeply unnerved. “According to this,” she murmured, “they weren’t just wolves.” She slowly turned the book around, revealing an aged illustration. Two wolves stood beneath an eclipsed moon—one black, one white. Tangled together. Bound. She took a slow breath. “They were more than mates.” Theoden’s jaw clenched.

I pulled it from the shelf and sat down at the table, flipping it open. The first few pages were filled with the usual stuff—founding dates, town milestones, and the kind of folklore that every small town seemed to have. But as I read further, the stories grew darker. Mentions of strange disappearances, shadowy figures in the woods, and whispers of creatures that hunted under the full moon. Wolves. My breath caught in my throat as I skimmed over the passages. It wasn’t just talk of wild animals. There were stories—centuries old—of people who could shift into wolves. People who lived among the townsfolk by day but became something else under the cover of darkness.
