It was 10:45 in the evening but still, I’m having a hard time sleeping. Instead of forcing myself to sleep, I went out to my terrace and looked at the city lights of the lively England. Ghale. "Laylay -" My body froze on hearing the nickname. Holy shit. I pulled away, taking the key swiftly before turning away. My hands trembled as I battled to open the door. Not sparing him a glance, I shut the door, my back slammed against it. My hand moved to touch my lips, realization setting in. I had kissed Kayden Mellow, my husband's best friend. Layla “My prince…” I whispered when I finally dared to look up. Lucian’s ruby-red eyes stared back at me, glowing like candy. His breath mingled with mine, his lips inches away. “Layla…” he whispered, voice low and rough, as if he was fighting something inside him. Sweet and bright and…” My voice trailed as heat burned across my cheeks.

Arash's eyes immediately fell on a novel with a white rose cover that was not as large as most novels. With a slightly damaged cover and a plastic cover on the outside, Arash was even more convinced that the novel must be quite old, for a book. Without realising it, the man blurted out the novel's author's name rather loudly. "A novel by Mira.W ...." Arash said. Upon hearing this, Arash could see that the girl named Zaya immediately shifted her attention to the bag lying on the chair next to where she was sitting. She then turned her gaze to Arash, whose eyes were still fixed on the book without blinking.

The first light of dawn bled through the tall windows, turning the marble floors of the twins’ mansion into a pale wash of silver. The air was still, but it carried the faint scent of rain, as if the world itself was holding its breath. Layla sat at the far end of the long dining table, the ancient scroll rolled up neatly in front of her. She hadn’t slept. The shadows under her eyes were deep, but her back was straight, and her fingers rested lightly on the table as if to anchor herself.

“Just rotate them. We’ll live in all of them. Because why not? We’re rich now.” Layla burst into laughter… real and loudl laughter she hasn’t felt in weeks. Drew looked away smiling. Milton chuckled. “You’re insane,” Layla said, wiping her eyes. “And you’re rich,” Naomi replied proudly, lifting her chin. Layla walked towards the central building… the largest, most breathtaking one. It had tall silver pillars, a floating balcony, soft golden floor lights, and a massive glass door that responded to motion. She touched the fingerprint pad beside the door.

“There’s… so much I need to tell you.” I crossed my arms, bracing myself. “Then tell me.” She bit her lip, tears sliding down her cheeks. “I fell in love. I thought he was the one. And then I got pregnant. But he left me, Layla. He disappeared. I had no one. I wanted to run away from it all, but I couldn’t. That’s when Xavier stepped in. He told me we’d pretend to get married. At the last moment, I was supposed to disappear, and he promised he’d take care of everything. It wasn’t love. It was… an arrangement. He wanted his father off his back. I wanted a way out.”

I looked back to see he and Frey arguing, his hands pointing to the main exit, Frey was definitely crying but I had moved away from them so I couldn’t see or hear clearly. “You need to remove the noise and just watch with your eyes and heart. Or else you will loose the man for you!” Layla had said those words to me few days ago when we had our girl trip to one of the most expensive mall, all sponsored by Zain. But Zain is crazy and unpredictable and once I put myself right in his palm he might just tighten his hands around me. I know he wants me, he always gets what he wants and I can’t just lose my guards? At least I’m not denying the fact that I want him too.

I stopped to squint at the figure, and on being caught, the mysterious person finally stepped into the light. I felt my jaw drop at the sight of a heavily pregnant woman, her belly swollen and round. She was accompanied by a maid who appeared to have been running after her, breathlessly trying to keep up. "Mistress, please slow down!" the maid cried, her features pulled into a concerned frown.
