READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.] LILITH POV: My eyes opened to the sun rising over skyscrapers, sparkling with dozens of silver lines of jewels, up and down as far as the eye could see. For a second, I was a bit disoriented, frowning at the bright, orange circle as it makes its ascent into the sky.

I opened the recipe notebook. I wrote nothing. Just sat with the blank page. And the warmth and the terror and the weight of the two lines and the specific enormous reality of a life that had just changed in a way I could not yet see the full shape of. ---

She looked at the notebook. At the one line. At everything it meant and everything that came after it and the kitchen around her and the man across from her and the bread in the oven and November. She picked up the pen. She wrote below the first line: Now we begin.

Everything's going to be just fine. And just like that, everyone opened their documents. We wrote something together. It was messy, but not too bad. And I just love how chaotic it was, with all those overlapping keystrokes. But man, it felt like oxygen. I started my first line with my fingers shaking like a baby bird's wings. 'He backed her against the wall, his breath brushing her lips, a mix of danger and desire hanging in the air.' Leona gasped so scrunching her nose that I almost rolled my eyes. “OH, WE’RE STARTING STRONG—OKAY.”

“Because sometimes pride is too big for words.” Calla – POV That night, I placed both books side by side on my desk. River’s first novel. My second. And a third notebook beside them—blank. Waiting. Not for closure. But for whatever comes next. Because my story didn’t start with my birth. It started the moment I chose to tell it.

She asked without lifting her gaze. "What is what?" I asked her. "This" ~~~~~ Roseline's POV As the morning light gently seeped through the curtains, casting a warm glow upon the room, I began to stir from my slumber. Slowly, consciousness drifted back to me. But as my senses awakened, I felt an unfamiliar throbbing in my head, intensifying with each passing moment. As I opened my eyes slowly, the melodious voice of birds chirping reached my ear, welcoming the new day.

The man vanished. The fire in the grate turned into purple flames. The silver dog on the porch began to howl. I looked at Elodie. She was still asleep, but a dark bruise was forming on her neck. The shape of a hand. I grabbed the golden quill from the floor where the man had stood. "Fine," I rasped. "You want a story? I'll give you a tragedy." I walked to the kitchen table. I opened the golden scroll. The first line was already there.

The chains of the past had been broken, and for the first time, my future was my own. --- A New Beginning The morning sunlight filtered through my curtains, casting a warm glow over my room. It felt surreal to wake up without the weight of secrets and lies pressing down on me. “Lila!” Sophie’s voice called from the hallway, accompanied by the sound of her footsteps. She burst into my room, her energy infectious. “Come on! We’re going out for brunch, and you’re not bailing this time.” I groaned, but her enthusiasm was hard to resist. “Alright, alright. Give me ten minutes.”
