THE ATTACK UNDER THE ECLIPSE “The red moon rose, and with it, the ones who failed to die.” Eclipse Moon Rises. The sky turned to blood, raw, exposed arterial red—as if the heavens themselves had torn. Lerder stood atop the sanctuary’s outer ramparts, gaze fixed on the rising eclipse. Around him, the wind howled in strange directions, bending torchlight sideways and curling it like serpents. The moon above—eclipsed, shrouded in copper shadow—watched them all like an open eye.

My legs were still numb with red hot pain. Jax snapped his fingers, and a woman stepped forward. She was tall with long red hair that fell in waves over her shoulders. She was in white just like me. Jax took her hand and pulled her to his side. “This is Selene,” he announced. “She is my chosen Luna. Our union will bring Riverdale’s strength to Shadow Bridge. This is what I desire.” "And so shall it be," Lady Trish said. Cheers erupted in the hall. Everyone had forgotten about me!

"They were building an army to feed to something else. A defense mechanism against a greater predator." "Look at the dates, Natalia," Lyra said, pointing a shaking finger at the final entry in the logbook, written just three days before their infiltration. "The eclipse they’re talking about... it’s not a metaphorical cycle. It’s the Blood Moon alignment. It happens in exactly two weeks." "Then we didn't just start a revolution," Marcus said, his fist tightening around the hilt of his shortsword until the leather wrap groaned. "We just broke the only shield this city had against whatever is coming out of the southern wastes."

He steps in front of me, shielding me from view as the village teems around us. I glance up from the pages without reading a single word. My senses settle the second I spot Fallon surrounded by a semi-circle of women–Lunas, by the looks of them. Some I recognize, some are new, but Fallon commands them all. It’s amazing to me how someone so small can demand so much attention, and the Lunas are, in fact, attentive, drinking in every word she says. I look back down at the journal. “We were correct,” I tell Father, briefly meeting his eyes. “Queen Maeve and Blake confirmed that the next full moon will also be a lunar eclipse.”

Joseph felt the wind knocked out of him as he heard the whistle followed by the loudest sound he's ever heard in all his 16 years under the Tau Ceti sun. A whiz and BOOM. Whiz and BOOM. Explosion after explosion came pummeling down onto them. An unending barrage of terrifying heat and sound and fireball crashed all around them. Joseph covered his face as clods of disturbed earth pelted and rained down on him. His screams were drowned out by the loud thunders. It went on forever. Until it didn't. Then it stopped. He heard nothing afterwards except the constant ringing in his ear.

Their probability-fields stretched, overlapping with one another until the entire planet was encased in a shimmering, dark-gold shell. On the Earth’s surface, the sun vanished. In London, New York, and Neo-Tokyo, the sky turned into a beautiful, terrifying twilight. The red radiation hit the "Void-Shell" and bounced back into space, unable to penetrate the collective "Will" of humanity. "The Eclipse is holding!" Maya screamed, her golden runes bleeding starlight. "But the pressure... Leo, the sun is 'Pushing' back! Cain is using the solar gravity to try and 'Crush' the shell!"

He raised his hands toward the white sky, and the smoke shot upward, a pillar of pure, liquid darkness that pierced the solar-fire of Solis. Above us, the white sky began to bleed. The darkness didn't just spread; it devoured. The Shadow-Blight, guided by Caelum’s will and Lyra’s frequency, began to form a colossal, circular disc between the North and the Sun. The "Eclipse" had begun. The temperature on the summit dropped forty degrees in seconds. The blinding white light faded into a beautiful, eerie indigo. The world returned to its colors—the deep greens of the forest, the dark obsidian of the Crag, the silver foam of the sea.

Caelan moaned loudly, not bothered by the echoes in the room. Whether it was how thick Ryker's cock was and how he constantly rammed into his prostate making Caelan see stars, or how tight Caelan's hole was, repeatedly hugging Ryker’s cock causing him to see lights as well, no one knows why they didn't notice the flash of a camera as someone took a picture of them.

"But know this, Iris. The King of Ash doesn't want to kill you. He wants to thank you. He’ll meet you at the peaks... when the sky turns to soot." With a final, mocking bow, the figure vanished entirely, leaving only a faint smell of burnt hair and a cold draft. The silence that followed was deafening. Mattias looked at the Alphas, his eyes wide. "What did he mean? 'Sky turns to soot'?" "The eclipse," I whispered, the memory of the book’s final pages rushing back. "In the original... in the story, the eclipse was when the final battle happened. But it was supposed to be because of the war between the North and South."

It was deliberately hidden in plain sight, blending in with the rest of his office. I scanned the titles again, my mind racing. Was this connected to the slaves? To the strange way he’d been monitoring them lately? I pulled another book from the shelf, this one titled Lunar Legends and Their Secrets. As I flipped through it, a piece of paper fell out and fluttered to the ground. I bent down, picking it up carefully. It was a handwritten note, the ink smudged but still legible: "Potential Moonbound Wolves. Monitor closely. Signs: delayed shifts, heightened instincts, unexplained resilience."
