Dear Reader Thank you for reading the first chapter of the book called, Gamble With My Heart. Gamble With My Heart was originally written as an Interactive Story Game. I am in the process of adapting it into a novel form. The original version contains a great deal of dialogue to fit the platform for which it was intended. Though you can enjoy the story in its interactive format too as currently published. (eg when Damon speaks, the format will be as this: Damon ~ "It was not Ava; it was Amé.")

Uneasy, she quickened her steps, eager to reach the elevator. As the dim lights flickered overhead, the silence of the place felt oppressive. Then, a sudden, sharp sound of footsteps echoed behind her. Before she could react, a cloth—soaked in a pungent-smelling chemical—was pressed to her face. She struggled to breathe, panic rising in her chest, before her world finally went dark. As Jessica was recalling all this, the black cloth over her eyes was ripped away. She never expected the first person she saw after waking up to be Cameron. It looked like they were in an abandoned parking lot.

After entering Nolan's room, Nicole turned his computer on and carefully examined the game. Upon closer inspection, she realized that it was exactly what she had expected, so she went online to search for this particular game, just to find that there was nothing remotely similar to it on the web. This proved that the game Nolan had been playing was custom-made for him. In other words, it was unique, and Nolan was the only one who owned it. To further her investigation, Nicole copied the game, left home, and headed to the Riddle Corporation. "Why are you coming in late? Is there something wrong?" Lulu asked when she saw Nicole.

Emma and Rhonda kept talking about various games they had played online as gamers throughout the journey to school. By the time they reached, Nancy had fallen asleep. I Every tick of time, Fiel could feel the intense desire and wish that the game be finished already. Today is the third day of the Game and it was called, “Escape from Arrows.” Fiel and the other remaining five players were put in a big circle, out in the open field, and were told to run to save their lives while arrows would rain inside the big circle. Whoever comes out of the big circle alive would remain in the game. "Take the left side, Mister, more arrows will fall on the right side," it was a voice that Fiel suddenly heard before the loud sound of a gunshot was heard all over the arena.
