Chapter: 30 ****** On a cold, stormy night, the wind whipped in from the North Sea, sending sheets of rain through the air. The moon shone brilliantly over the little island where the Lycgers had sought refuge three days ago. The sea churned with dark, menacing waves. Inside the vast living room, the men paced restlessly, their shirtless bodies drenched in sweat despite the frigid temperature. The pain they felt had become unbearable, and with each passing day, it seemed to worsen.

Rock. Selah lunged off the bottom, breaking into the air with a ragged cough. She spat out the bitter water, her body trembling with exhaustion. The next wave caught us, a forceful shove that threw us forward. We tumbled through the surf, our skin scraping against the jagged floor until the water receded. I reached deep into the void of my mind, grabbing every scrap of will I had left. I forced my lifeless limbs to move. We dragged our heavy, wet bodies out of the reach of the tide.

All I could do was let one last terrified scream as my body plunged deep into the vast waters. Pain… That was all I could feel from the electricity burning through my body, to the water drowning me and filling up my lungs. My life force was dissipating bit by bit as the waves drifted me aimlessly. All I could do was extend my hands upwards trying to hold on to life as the water pulled downwards. “Save me.” I lifelessly whispered and pleaded to God.

Liora stood barefoot in the rain, her small hands raised to the clouds. The wind howled around her, the rain falling in sheets — yet none of it touched her. Massive waves slammed against jagged rocks with terrifying force, spraying seawater into the air as the wind screamed around her. Her breathing faltered instantly. “No…” she whispered shakily. AFTER Lily The foamy waves crash noisily against the bank. It is a beautiful sight. The wind tousles my hair and the scent of the ocean is so intoxicating like rich wine, I take more steps towards the calling ocean. My toes are caked with wet sand and goosebumps decorate my arms due to the cold but I keep walking until I am ankle-deep in the bone-chilling water. The water is a dark grey colour, almost black.
