Sarah whispered in disbelief. Lucy, Sarah and Ashton’s biological mother, stepped into the center of the room. She did not look toward Ashton’s bed first. Her gaze went straight to her own mother, Carol Bennet. “Since when do you think you have the right to drive away the people my son loves, Mom?” Lucy asked. She stood tall, nearly as tall as Carol, but her presence was far more dominant. “Lucy… you just arrived?” Carol tried to compose herself, though a hint of nervousness slipped into her voice. “I’m only protecting my grandson from bad influence.”

“It sounds like the two of you didn’t waste any time. How long have you been mates now again?” “Erm, well, actually, the news isn’t about Jasmine.” “Oh, what is it then, honey?” “It’s actually about Lucy.” “Lucy?” “Yes, actually, I found out earlier this week that Lucy’s pregnant.” My mom gasped and fell back in her chair and my dad looked over at her. She had her hand to her chest, breathing heavily. My dad turned back toward the screen and looked at me sternly. “Dear Goddess. Please tell me it’s not yours, Luke.”

" Lucy says. I shove her. "Yes, mom." "Speaking of which......Mom! Where are you!" Lucy calls upstairs. She turns back to me. "She wanted pictures of you two before you leave." My face twists as I whine. "Come on. Pictures?" "Yes, pictures." Lucy snaps. "Never mind. This is important." My mother rushes down. "Here....I'm here." She breathes. "Where's Alexi?" "She's not ready yet. She should be soon." Lucy supplies.

(PROLOGUE) When Lucy's mom decided to remarry after ten years since she lost her husband,Lucy wasn't ready for that but it's not as if she's got a choice. Her mom needed a man who would at least fend for them,or maybe possibly she also needs another child? Lucy already knew it wasn't going to be all roses trying to get along with a total stranger in a strange house. But nevertheless,she never complained,at least not to her mom.

She timidly answers, "Hi Ajay. I'm here looking for Lucy." I give her direct eye contact and reply, "Maybe. May I know who's asking?" She wipes her palm on her pant leg by her thigh and walks toward me with an extended hand, saying, "I'm Tanya Hugo, Lucy's mother." "Lucy's mother? Oh wow, um, I'm pleased to meet you, Mrs. Hugo." "It's Miss. Lucy's dad died when she was three." "I'm sorry." Giggling into her hand, she says, "There's no need to be sorry. You didn't know."

She’d need cash to bribe whoever that was stopping her child from being happy. Just then, she dropped the phone on her laps and smirked to herself. “Well, that was a very random idea.” “Mom? Mom? Good, she finally shut up.” Ms. Jenna overheard her daughter mumbling on the phone. “Watch your mouth, Lucy!” she warned. “Instead of crying to me, who you’ve deemed unworthy to help you, why not meet Sir Damien, your acquaintance? I know who he is.” Lucy’s eyes widened. Her mother knew who Sir Damien was? Because she was married to Arya? Since when did her mother care about what happened to her nieces?

"Lucy, what are you wearing?" "Doesn't it look so awesome?" She gave him a big smile. "It just came in today. Perfect timing—I needed something new to wear tonight!" "So that's not lingerie?" He asked with a bite to his words. "No, silly!" She continued to smile and I tried to determine what was happening. Lucy's reactions weren't matching Luke's clear distaste. "And where is Libby?" "Oh, don't you worry, baby." She continued to smile and pushed on his nose. "My mom is taking her for the night. She's been wanting to spend more time with her granddaughter anyway. It worked out perfect!"

Jared said. “ Daddy ” Little Lucy stretched her hands for Lucifer to carry her which he did and he kissed her hair. “ How are you my little princess ” He said still glaring at Jared. “ I'm fine Daddy....Mommy cheated with Luther while we're playing hide and seek ” Lucy said. “ Hmm is that so ” Lucifer said narrowing his eyes playfully at Skyler who smiled at her daughter who was reporting her and Luther to her father. “ Mommy and I didn't cheat ” Luther said siding his mother.

She muttered to herself, “I was a bit too harsh this time. I’ll have a good chat with him when we get home. It should all be fine.” Bella suddenly raised her head with red-rimmed eyes. She tried to say something, then closed her mouth again. I watched as Mom carefully placed the boxed cake into a bag. Strawberry cake. My absolute favorite. Mom still remembered. It was a shame I wouldn’t be able to eat it anymore. I swallowed instinctively, feeling a little regret. When we got home, my bedroom door was still firmly shut. Mom walked up to the door, cleared her throat, and her voice was unusually gentle.

"Lucy." "She's a pediatrician at our hospital." "I'm just a resident," I corrected. Mom immediately pinched me. Hey, I was right, I just didn't want to exaggerate. "Yes, I know her from the mother and child department, first year resident" Luke replied. What? How did he know? Wasn't last night our first meeting? Or did he read my ID card? Ah that must be why he decided to save me from the bar. Now everything makes sense. What doesn't make sense is that me and him are going to be step-siblings!
