The woman suddenly turned pale and her eyes widened. “B-but…” “Go to your table, Anna. We will deal with you later,” Brent said and motioned her to go away. After that they went inside the office. Wallace Empire Corp was located in Midtown Manhattan. Nestled between Central Park and towering financial landmarks. The eighty stories floor-to-ceiling glass walls mirrors the NYC skyline that looks stunning during sunset and stormy nights. It spans the entire 80th floor with 360 degree views of Manhattan. The only thing that made him in a good mood whenever he’s having a bad day.

“Then stop fantasizing about it and let’s go make it happen.” The private club in the Upper East Side was one that needed three levels of referrals to gain entry into it, in addition to an enormous amount of wealth that could silence even the most inquisitive questions. The dark wooden paneling was able to soak up the dim light. The crystal glasses rang softly. The scent of expensive whiskey and old money filled the air, along with the subtle predatory force of men whose conversations could seal a company’s fate.

The remaining days flashed in a blur, filled with preparations for her upcoming career move. Firstly, she found a suitable three bedroom apartment for her, Astor and Susannah in the Upper West Side. She needed to stay within Midtown Manhattan because the work at A. K. Media would require her to attend events at night and on weekends, while at the same time, she wanted to be close to Astor, so moving to the Upper West Side seems like the best compromise. She had decided against the Upper East Side, it's too close to both Arthur and Aaron, hence the possibility of either one of them suddenly dropping by would be too high.

Her fingers moved swiftly across the keyboard, efficient and precise. Once the reservation was confirmed, she forwarded the address to Mirena, then leaned back in her chair and slowly spun around, letting her gaze drift across her apartment. Compared to Mirena and the other elites, she lived in a modest three-bedroom penthouse on the Upper East Side of New York. "The family has arranged a secure luxury apartment for you on the Upper West Side." "Don't mention it, Miss." Arthur bowed slightly. "Contact me anytime if you need anything." He respectfully exited the room. The moment the door closed, silence fell. I walked to the window and pulled back the white curtains. The Manhattan skyline filled my view. Skyscrapers stood shoulder to shoulder, the sun glinting off their glass facades. This is New York. Not Chicago. No Maximus. No endless hail of bullets. No money to be laundered. Just me, and a fresh start.

With my hand in his we enter an elevator and with me in his arms we float up. When we get to the top of the building, he opens a door and as we step inside, I hold my breath. Look, my own homes are definitely built according to the most modern architecture and every year I have an assessment made to upgrade the facilities. But what I see here is definitely taken from the latest architecture magazine. Now I remember that the West Village is one of the most expensive neighborhoods in New York and only the wealthy in the Fellogan family range can afford an estate here. I have to order Kaylah to come here shopping some time, I think.

I’m relieved to see her put her hand down and get the car on the road. The journey is fast after the long hours on the most uncomfortable coach journey in history. Arrick always swung in different social circles to me, so I hope I won’t run into him anytime soon.

He tided my dress and stopped. Finally, the car pulled up to a commercial building in Upper East Side District, which was known to all people in New York, it was a place of wealth. Noah took me by the wrist and took my to the elevator, pressing the button of the 64th floor, the topmost of this building.
