Novels Library Novels & Stories

E L L E How did I only just discover that there was literally a huge library room full of books in this mansion. It was like living in a dream, where all you have to do is ask for something, and it would be done. The library had all sorts of books. Novels, short stories, history, biographies, self-help books, poetry, and many more. It was truly heaven. Mikhail was out to get some of our luggages that weren’t complete from the airport. Avery and Gio were in their bedroom.

Evianna: My days were boring, and as usual, I'm in my bedroom. At times I bury myself in books from the library... There's a calm feeling that comes with reading a novel, and I'm quite surprised that there are so many books in the library, books of different genres. There were a few romance genre novels in there, I was surprised when I came across them at first, cause what on earth is he using romance books for? He doesn't even look like someone who even read books.

No wonder some people get addicted to it. The memory of what happened last night makes me shudder, and I try not to think of those men's threats. Now I just want to enjoy being alone for the first time in a while, so I go down to the library and search for something to read. There's an entire shelf dedicated to novels about vampires, which is amusing to find inside a vampire's library, so I pick one called Carmilla and settle down in an armchair. I'm ten pages into it when the door opens abruptly.

he gave me a small smile and I nodded in return. I left him sitting on the floor, at the encyclopedia corner. We both knew what our goal was, we were not going to stop until we completed it. I guess there was something in common between Beta and Iota after all, their drive. I headed toward the Literature corner, searching for books at the isle of fiction. Our library follows the Dewey Decimal System, so I headed towards CAN. There were four shelves of books dedicated to authors with the surname starting with CAN. I heard myself sigh; this was going to be such a long search.

It was indeed a novel! 'But how could she guess that the book was a novel?' Naomi thought. She took a step to distance herself from the shelf where Lisa picked the book and looked up. Instantly, her amusement vanished. There was a sign that was hanged. On it was a five-lettered word: NOVEL! Actually, all of the bookshelves in the library had a sign hanging above them, classifying what kind of books were in each bookshelves. It was just that Naomi hadn't noticed them.

I didn't want to have breakfast for fear of running into Darick. The door creaked as I turned the knob and entered the library. Dust particles still floated in the air, and I could barely see with the dimly lit chancellors. I walked down the aisles, holding my nose as the smell of musk filled my nostrils. I skimmed my fingers over the hardback books. Hmm, ‘Chronicles of the Blood Brothers.’ No, I don't want to read about the Blood Brothers' history. What's this? ‘Understanding your Supernatural Abilities.’

I think I got home so fast I almost rivaled the speed of Atticus and Louis. Noah's library now seemed as empty and gloomy as it had been when I first entered it. Since my husband had given me my own library as a gift, I had hardly set foot in it. I thought I had everything in the collection Noah had created for me, full of books on medicine, healing potions, and romance novels. But now, I needed a book that was only available there. I knew it. The cover I saw in that lucid vision wasn't at all familiar to me, which meant there wasn't a copy in my library.

She huffs at us, rolling her eyes before pinning us with a firm stare. "Women write these books. You want to learn how to sweep a woman off her feet? There's your manual." She says, motioning towards the book in my lap. I look at the novel with a newfound respect before looking around the room. "Seriously?" I ask and the women all nod. "Oh yeah. I'd love for my husband to read some of these books. Maybe we could spice things up a little." A woman says and many others nod their heads in agreement. "Oh hell yes. Maybe get him to growl and call you a good girl." Another says with a giggle. My eyebrows shoot up in surprise and the younger girl looks at us with amusement.

As much as unsettling the thought was, I pushed it past my head. “Well, I still have to do something at least. I can’t just sit around twiddling my thumbs in this room all day” Noah ponders over my response for a moment and says “Why don’t you visit the library located on the seventh floor. I know how much you love reading crime thrillers. That place is literally booming with it and every genre is available over there too” He suggested. “Ok then. I’ll head over there in a few seconds” I nod my head.

In fact, the complete opposite. It was an erotic novel, one about a young male intern who fell in love with his female boss. He skimmed over it and found words like ‘spanking’, ‘handcuffs’, and ‘bonding’, which he was pretty sure wasn’t the wholesome kind of bonding. His face heated up just by reading it. “Why the heck does the library have novels like this?” He complained. “Because they’re a fun library, duh. What do you think the moms do while the children listen to fables?”
