Darren:
I walked out of the building and went into the deeper part of the market, my ears picking up the sounds of human heartbeats. Stopping by the usual stall, I saw Robert, the owner of the place, he was inside conversing with a young lady "A box of red pills" I said and Robert stood up immediately after he heard my voice. "Good day Mr. Darren" he greeted and I acknowledged him with a nod of my head. Leaning my hands on the table as I waited for him to bring the usual thing I bought from here. Scanning through the place, my gaze landed on the lady who sat down, fixing me a seductive gaze. Her suggestive actions elicited a chuckle from deep within me, knowing full well that it wouldn't take me a mere breath to snap her delicate neck and drain out her blood but I would rather not waste my time. Robert arrived back a few minutes later with a small bag, I collected it from him and dropped the money on the table "The slayers dropped by the market two days ago" he said in a whisper and my brows furrowed. "What did they come for?" I questioned, the slayers were one of the stark enemies vampires have ever had, they were stubborn and persistent in wiping out the whole vampires, but as easy as it may sound that was never going to be possible. "Not sure," Robert said with a smile that faltered under the intensity of my glare, prompting him to clear his throat nervously before continuing. "But I've heard whispers among some traders that the vampire slayers are planning on attacking the towns around before they head towards the city" Robert explained, earning a deep frown from me. I don't know what the slayers' plans were but I'm sure it wasn't a good one, it was never good, to begin with. "Make sure to gather more information before my next visit," I said and dropped a few more dollars before taking the bag of pills and turning to leave. It was at this moment that Cassius arrived, my right-hand man and most trusted one, we've known each other for ages now. "I left her in the car, sir," he said and I nodded briefly. She was the same person I had seen last week when Cassius and I had gone to Vrematon, a town, on a pursuit to look out for the slitters who had been capturing humans around recently, but we didn't find what we were looking for so we left. We went back to the town last night and I saw her again running down the road, under the rain, soaked and wet, out in the cold around 11 PM. Made me wonder if she wasn't scared, humans were scared, pathetic, and vulnerable. I detest them cause what exactly are they scared of? they were the weakest of all creatures and they were also ignorant of their surrounding. The only significant use for them is their blood, which vampires craved to survive. I don't believe in coincidences, but as if that wasn't enough, I saw her again today. Far away from Vrematon about to be auctioned off. A lot of vampires were in here, under the disguise of being humans, the black market was a place where different things were sold, and a lot of people come down here from the city to get something. All creatures come down to this place often under the disguise of being normal human beings, you can't completely tell who is who, vampires can tell their kind and humans apart, but creatures like the witches and slitters couldn't be differentiated much from humans. I was just entering the market with Cassius earlier when my ear caught the trembling and fast thumping sound of someone's heartbeat, looking up at the auction center, I saw her there, under the eyes of people with different intentions. A lot of people were ready to buy her as a slave, some as a fuck toy while some wanted to take her home and suck out her blood. The first time I saw her, she was with a young lad with whom she was smiling so fondly, her light brown hair cascaded down her shoulders while some covered part of her face, she used her slender fingers to move the strands of hair to the back, her figure was so delicate and petite, her white teeth came in view as she laughed with the little boy, she wore a pink floral long dress which made her look extremely adorable. I was mesmerized, a very beautiful maiden. Completely moved by the sight, I still remember every little detail vividly. When I saw her last night also, under the rain, with her clothes clinging to her body, I would have loved to stop and see more of her but I had important matters which I came to the town for. So I told Cassius to move on. Cassius collected the bag from my hand and we made our way out of the bustling market. "One slitter was caught yesterday" I heard Cassius say "She was caught in Cripton town and was taken to the labhouse" Cassius reported, Cripton town was just beside Vrematon and the slitters were rampant in these two towns. "Let's stop by the labhouse when we return to the city," I said to Cassius. Slitters were coming out of hiding recently, they had plans and aims that the Council of Elders were yet to know about. We walked out of the market and approached the car, my gaze lowered a little to the car when I couldn't hear the human's heartbeat from there. Cassius ran to where the car was as he seemed to have noticed something also, he looked back at me "She isn't here" I scanned my eyes around the surrounding looking for my little human but she wasn't there, she had gone far already. People drew out their slaves from the market like animals but that wasn't my business, my newly bought pet has eloped. "Wait for me," I said to Cassius before I made my way to the forest, hoping that she hasn't been devoured yet by another creature, I'll slaughter whoever does that. The mere thought sent a surge of anger coursing through my veins. I had acquired her for my exclusive possession and amusement, not for anyone else's pleasure. I alone would savor the twisted pleasure of tormenting her, inch by agonizing inch. Sauntering into the forest with a poised stride, my eyes flickered deep red as my ears picked up the sound of her heartbeat; a fragile melody. A smile, both enigmatic and sinister, curved upon my lips, for vampires are adept at the art of pursuit. A thrill of the hunt surged through me, an adrenaline rush, unlike no other. The predator was on the prowl and the prey would soon find herself ensnared in my seductive grasp."Games of hide and seek don't always end well, little pet" I whispered "For in this game, there is no escape from the predator's embrace." Reaching the heart of the forest, her scent wafted into my nostrils, a tantalizing fragrance that guided my pursuit "Pretty prey" I murmured, my voice a velvety whisper that danced on the breeze "You may hide, but I shall find you. And when I do, the game will be over, and you shall be mine."Evianna: My footsteps blended with the rustling of leaves beneath me as I sprinted through the dense forest. The canopy above cast intricate patterns of sunlight and shadow on the forest floor, adding an eerie ambiance to my desperate flight. The scent of damp earth and pine needles filled my nostrils, the ancient sentinels of nature standing tall around me. I dared not pause to consider my fate. The memories of a childhood spent in the orphanage, aching with neglect and abuse, before being kidnapped on a dark chilly night now blended with the chilling prospect of captivity under the hands of a remorseful captor. Survival demanded my full attention. I ran as far as my legs could take me, the sound of the wind swooshing past my ear, my ears picking up the rustling sound of dry leaves as I went deeper into the forest. The forest grounds were wet and I had no shoes on, birds in the trees made chirping sounds giving life to the forest. "Aaargh"A thorn, hidden amidst the foliage, h
Darren: I stared at her as she looked down at the rope used in tying her hands, her hair covering part of her face, and her white knee-length shirt which she still dons had gone dirty. I didn't change those for her. I'm not that nice. I took the last sip of blood from the cup before I stood up from the couch, dipping my left hand into my pocket as I made my way to the bed "Why are my legs and hands bound together with a rope?" she asked, I gave no response to that, I came to stand beside the bed and she struggled to move away, but she couldn't. Her legs were tied to the bed frame, rendering her unable to move. "Evianna" I called out her name and she stilled on the bed "Where exactly were you running to?" I asked, that was in the past already, and I won't give her the chance to even attempt running again. I just wanted to hear her answer. Her reason for making me run after her. "I was running away from you," she said straightaway. "Why?" "You killed him," she said shortly and I f
Evianna: "This is the room you would be staying from now on" I looked around the room I was led into, it was nothing compared to where I was earlier. A few minutes after he had left, a middle-aged-looking woman with black hair parked in the middle came into the room, she introduced herself as Cecil. Her black hair framed her face, she exuded an air of professionalism and authority. Her demeanor was serious, and there was no hint of a smile on her lips. She seemed to be in her early thirties, with a mature aura that belied her relatively young age. Her presence filled the room, and it was clear that she was accustomed to being in charge. She was dressed in a crisp, well-fitted black uniform, complete with a white apron. As she introduced herself, her voice was firm and authoritative, devoid of any necessary warmth or friendliness. It was evident that she was someone who took charge and ensured that things ran smoothly in the household. The room we were in right now was cramped an
Darren: Arriving at the lab house, I opened the door by myself, not waiting for Cassius to come to open it. The cold breeze hit my face, swaying my hair to the right, coming down from the car, I used my right hand to brush my hair to the back before tucking my hands into my coat pocket. Cassius came to stand beside me "The body is in the cadaver lab" he said and we sauntered into the building. The Vampire lab house is a place where research is done, and findings that are yet to have a proper explanation to them, are also brought here, there's another tall building beside it, which is the Vampire courthouse. Everything that goes around this vicinity is hidden from other creatures, only vampires are allowed into the gates. I grazed my tongue across my fangs as we walked along the dark silent corridors, after a few more steps we arrived at a door, opening it, we walked in, and the strong scent of formaldehyde hit my nostrils, making me scrunch it up with a frown. "Morgan isn't her
Evianna: Why isn't anyone believing me?? It wasn't intentional, I am not foolish to deliberately damage something of such immense value. However, the accusing stares directed towards me converted an undeniable message: my words would fall on deaf ears, dismissed as mere fabrications. In all my existence, I have never felt such profound helplessness. It felt as though the specter of death loomed mere moments away. I would willingly shed tears of blood if it would convince them to believe me, yet they showed no interest in hearing my side of the story. "Please, it wasn't intentional" I don't know why I'm pleading and I didn't realize when a tear fell out of my eyes, made me wonder if it was the helpless state I'm in right now that caused it, or if it was fear; fear of what he would do to me when he finds out, fear that he might shoot a bullet through my head the way he did to the auctioneer earlier. The fear loomed large, haunting me with the prospect of meeting my end at such a ten
Darren: Staring down at my new slave who knelt in front of me, the right side of her cheek had a red print on it and I immediately knew someone touched her, the sight annoyed me. I don't want anyone touching her except me, ALONE! Tracing the map of her skin with my hands alone. To create a trail of sensations that she alone would recall. Upon discovering the broken pottery in my room, I felt a surge of frustration. It was one of my mother's most treasured possession, holding sentimental value beyond measure. However, as I looked into her tear-filled hazel eyes, my initial anger wavered. Though tempted to still punish her, I had to attend to the fact that someone dared to lay a hand on her. Her body flinched involuntarily as my hands brushed over the spot where she had been struck, silently conveying the pain she had experienced Growing increasingly impatient, I demanded once more with a low voice "Who did this to you, dear?" Her watery eyes shifted towards my left, revealing t
Evianna: As I stood in the same position, my disapproval of conveying his orders became palpable. My mind raced, desperately searching for any excuse that could divert his attention away from me. I should have known that complaining about my dress to him was of no use, something in my mind was telling me to run away, but where to, I wouldn't even reach anywhere before he grabs me back to him. "I'm sorry, Master. Cecil told me to finish my work up here after an hour and return, or else she would punish me for coming late" I lied— a big fat useless one. Useless in the fact that he is the one that does the main orders around here, so disobeying him to go meet Cecil was trash I came up with. My excuse was futile, as it was clear that his orders held ultimate authority. Disobeying him was a foolish and ill-conceived plan. I don't even know how I came up with that, I just spat it out as it flowed to my lips. I bowed my head, and turned away, not waiting for his response. I picked up
Darren: With a smile on his face, the elder asked, "Why would you put me through the stress of coming here when you would have just swung by the courthouse for a relaxed chit-chat over a cup of blood?" Walking into the sitting room, I sat down on a couch positioned across from his, facing him directly. Choosing not to address his question. I had no intention of stopping by for a casual conversation with him. There was no particular reason or desire on my part to engage in a chit-chat with him. "I have no time for chit-chats," I said plainly, not ready to feed his thirst for getting information from me, which is the reason why he was here in the first place. A soft chuckle escaped the elder's lips, signaling his amusement. Amidst the elder's chuckles, a maid entered the room carrying a tray with two cups. She placed one on the table beside the elder and then handed the second cup to me. Receiving it, I closed my eyes, taking in the alluring aroma of the blood, which was unmistakab
