The journey is more pretty than the destination. Even being incomplete, My love is still complete! ✿ I walk alone down to an unknown street. The rain has been falling steadily all night, and it's only getting worse. I soaked to the bone and need to get out of this rain. It's dark, only a lone streetlamp casts a dim, yellow light on the sad features of the road. Then I saw a small house. "Thank heavens!!!" I say out loud but at the second glance, all my relief is chilled by the look of the place. It looks as if no one has lived here for many years.

But it was just one more reason to be pissed off tonight. When I looked around, I could see that we were on a very rural stretch of the highway, moving west according to the rusty old road signs. There wasn’t another car around for miles as far as I could hear. Not even the kind of old truck I’d expect to hear out in these parts. Helaine wasn’t here either. My boots crunched against the abandoned gas station parking lot’s gravel as I stalked toward the driver’s side door, I slammed my hand down on the hood in a fit of frustration as Frank stepped out of my ride, lighting up a cigarette.

I mutter to myself, gripping the steering wheel tighter than necessary. Soon, I'm driving out of the firm, and I'm now on the road. The drive home is a blur. I don’t remember the traffic lights. I don't say anything else, really not caring. Once I get to the other side of the city, I pull over near the alley. She gets out, looking around as She starts to walk down the alley still looking. A deep frown appear on her face, then she let out a sigh dropping her head.

I scream at him and slam the door. I step out into the cold night and I regret not bringing along a coat with me. I'm walking in the lone dark streets feeling alone as I pass by an old couple. They look so happy together but I'm too smart to know I'll never have that. I've given up on love completely.

The world believed in the paper. I started the engine and drove. I didn’t think or plan. I didn’t even check where I was going. I just drove to the only place that still felt real.
