After brushing out my damp hair (which reached my butt when wet), I gathered dirty clothes and opened the door— —colliding with a wall of bare muscle. "Whoa, easy there," Jack’s hands landed on my bare shoulders as I stumbled back. I stared in consternation at his bare, sculpted chest. There was a tattoo on his right shoulder—some gothic cemetery angel. Funny, I’d never have pegged the stuffy businessman as an ink guy. A thin T-shaped trail of sandy hair spread across his pecs, trailing down toward his navel. *Damn.* Who knew he hid this under those sport coats?

He squinted, unsure. “It’s not finished yet, that’s why you don’t see it. We’ve only walked three points. But a fourth point would complete it.” I drew a straight line to complete the pattern. His jaw dropped as he recognized it. “A cross,” he said quietly. “We were meant to walk in the shape of a cross.” “Yes,” I said excitedly. “And if we follow the line, if we complete the cross symmetrically, it only leads to one place.” We both followed the line I drew.

That was my only consolation. “Quit the talking and get to work, Ethan. There’s no time for idle talks.” He reached for my neck and I was about to slap his hands off when I noticed the name tag on my neck that seem engraved to my chest. “We all have a tag, Athena. I guess we’re partners for today. C’mon, hurry. The masters are brutal.” My anger softened as I ran my finger above the dents on my chest caressing the golden imprint of my name. What in the world is this place?
