I sighed and waited for her to be stable. Smearing my palm on hers, I let the pierced spot kiss, let our blood mix… binding our bodies, souls, and spirits. “Elara Saint Clair,” I cupped her chin with my free hand, letting her hold my gaze. In those blue ocean, I could peacefully drown. “This is my oath to you.” A side of my jaw was etched in a small smile. “Just as our souls are bound in harmony, I give you my word… To be by your side, even in death and beyond.”

“But the chamber is too large for just you and I to search without wasting time. We'll need help.” “You want us to tell people about the chamber…” I said in sudden realization. “Yes.” He said. “Rowan, Kael, Draven, Lyra, Vanessa and Kaida have proven their loyalty to us. I think we can trust them, but they will have to sweat an unbreakable oath just in case.” My brows furrowed in confusion. “An oath? What type of oath?” “A blood and magic oath.” He answered. “It's a type of oath that'll bind them to secrecy forever. If any of them ever think of betraying us in any way be it sabotage, revealing the location of the chamber or anything, the oath will take their lives.”

She just stared at her own shaking hands, the weight of what she had just said pressing down on her shoulders like a mountain of lead. The bond allowed the tied ones to communicate through the mental conversations. I was going to be tied to the bond that all the soldiers, and guards share with the royal family.
