Rowan I sit in my office overlooking the club. My one-way window allows me to watch the masses of people who crave to be seen, touched or used in whatever way previously consented. This is my dark side. The one very few people know about. I run a billion-dollar company during the day. On our monthly club weekends, I am part owner of the Hidden Chamber. Jersey chasers on dick patrol linger underneath it, waiting for their idols. My lips tighten. “Yeah, the piranhas are circling.” She takes a sip of her drink, her gaze darting from me to them. “I look like I can bag me a sexy hot billionaire vampire or werewolf in those Korean dramas.” Marcus’s voice crackled in my ear. “You good in there?” “Yeah,” I whispered back. “Wish you could see me right now. You’d pass out.” “I probably would. 100% will.” I smiled. I knew the flirty tension was always there, but this wasn’t the time. I joined the other ladies as the backdoors opened and Club Umbra swallowed us whole. There was red lights, pounding music, and hot bodies everywhere. Heat rolled off the crowd like steam, champagne, cologne, pheromones... it was dizzying.

Maybe it was only me being paranoid, or maybe something bad will happen. My eyes wandered around the club, trying to see if there’s anything that could be considered odd or out of place, but nothing caught my eyes. It looked like a typical club, dirty dancing, loud music, and drunk people. The club itself wasn’t fancy or prestigious, in fact, it was your common club downtown. Dirty for my liking and by dirty, I mean dirty. My nose scrunched up in disgust as I saw an old man in his sixties grinning down at a young girl while putting a handful of money inside her bra.

It wasn’t the name that caught me off guard, but the vulgar photo of two werewolves in their animal form having sex. “One Night Stand club,” Tessa introduced. “They’re meant for having sex within their members in order to increase their points exponentially.” I smelled a familiar scent and found Jaxon bypassing through the line to input his name in. The others squealed in excitement as soon as they saw him. “Are you interested in—” I cut Tessa’s question off by dragging her away from their booth. “Well, I’m assuming you don’t like that club.” I shook my head. “It’s a breeding site for infections,” I muttered.

And I definitely didn’t stop when I began to sway and my vision tunneled. Because as I said, I am a member of the black cross and those bitches need to see it.
