Let me fight the ghost. Then… I felt them. A breeze shifted. The hairs on my neck rose. Malia. She stepped into the clearing with the twins at her sides. Without a word, Malia dropped to her hands and knees—and shifted. Black fur exploded from her skin. Her form twisted, cracked, reformed. A sleek, deadly wolf replaced her. Kelly gasped. Then the twins followed. A pale gray wolf and a rust-colored one. All three of them stalked forward slowly, eyes fixed on me.

"Can't you see how he has been treating us harshly since the MD pack, and how he has been cursing and bashing us, you should have allowed him to rot, in the storm…." "Arrrrgh!!" Malik growled, shooting a menacing stare at Melinda. "Just come out clean, and admit that you're intimidated by my presence…" "Intimidated by your presence??" Melinda chuckled. "Newsflash – you're no longer an Alpha. So your little honeymoon, at the top of the food chain is over. You're just another bland, blind werewolf.." Melinda retorted, gazing fiercely at Malik, looking at him from his head to toe, sizing him up in a disgusting manner.

His Luna is in danger yet his attention is on his territory. Once his paws stepped on the familiar soil of home, the residents immediately caught his scent. Some deep in their sleep saw him in their nightmares. Some awoke and traced his scent, eyes glinting under the moonlight. Though, Fenrir smelled them too. He knew those who stirred in their sleep and those who completely woke up, leaving their houses. The mad wolf is back. And he’s furious. They weren’t just people. They were wolves. A cold shiver ran down my spine. My legs felt heavy as I tried to run. The low growls, the soft whispers seemed too loud in my ears. I pressed my back against the wall, my heart beating so hard it almost hurt. Someone whispered nearby, “That’s her… the girl he brought in.” Another voice replied, “They say she’s his mate.” Mate? Alpha? Wolves? None of it made sense. I tried to take a step back, my fingers trembled and my body was shaking terribly. I’d never been so afraid, not even when I faced that rogue wolf in the forest.

distant. She hesitated for a moment, her gaze shifting away before finally meeting my eyes. "Malia, you won't believe what happened. The wolves on night patrol found someone - a woman. She was hurt, but they brought her back to the Alpha, and he seems to know her." My heart skipped a beat at her words. Who was this mysterious woman, and why did the Zade have a connection to her? A mix of curiosity and wariness flooded through me, urging me to find out more.

Kyle was silent as Eva's words ran through his mind again and Luca continued "You haven't experienced love before and this is all new to you.
