Silent Howls
“Now, Liora. Offer yourself.”
I lifted my head to the sky and howled, a sound ripping from the deepest, rawest corner of my soul, so powerful that the earth trembled under my paws.
Just as the final echoes faded into the night, I padded toward the roaring flames. Fire cracked outwards as the heat licked my fur, scorching and searing, but I didn’t hesitate.
I looked at Cassian one last time and then leapt straight into the fire, praying.
“Please save my mate, the Moon Goddess.”
