"They were necessary sacrifices to make sure I survived! I am the identity! I am the purpose!" "You're the shadow!" I slammed her head against the white floor, the concrete cracking beneath us. "I am the one who loved the Alpha! I am the one who carries the future! You want the 'Extinction' back? Come and take it from the teeth!" As our souls clashed in the center of the courtyard, the white light of the sky began to bleed. Not silver, not violet—but a deep, rich Obsidian-Red. Through the fracture we had torn in the compiler, a shadow began to rise. It wasn't a ship. It wasn't a drone.

But instead of turning dark, the light that bled out from behind the shadow was a deep, terrifying, violent crimson. Within seconds, the entire valley was bathed in an eerie, blood-red glow. The shadows on the ground twisted into strange, unnatural shapes. "The wards!" Susan Wayne screamed from the edge of the pavilion, her tracking compass shattering completely in her gloved hand. "The perimeter stones are cracking! Something is crushing the spiritual barrier from the outside!" Oscar drew his hunting blade, his face twisting into a snarl as his Alpha aura exploded out to protect his people. "Enforcers! Form a circle around the Omega and the children! Now!"

Later, these guards also tied my feet so I couldn’t move. Then the door swung open. A tall werewolf came in with a powerful and intimidating aura within him. “I am Bill Shadow, the Beta of Hurricane Dawn Pack. I need a moment with this she-wolf. She has ruined my sister’s day! I can’t let her go just like that.” The guards looked at each other. Then one of them nodded, “Beta Bill, we are sorry for the disturbance caused by our Omega. We will leave you with her for five minutes.” Then both of them leave the room.

The creature feeds off where it was born, off the rage and vengeance hidden inside me. My eyes glow red, as I find the one shadow I crave, "But you." The shadows look amongst themselves and one by one they disappear, each to their owners until only two remain. I stand before the shadow, and disregard the one beside it. It is loyal to the shadow as its owner is, and will not leave without her. I study the tall slave before me as her image forms as Shades did, as does the one that stands slightly beside it. The face of the slave warrior forms, every detail identical, only her eyes remain her dark pits of Shadow.

The people, drove by Thorne, offered vital help with their silver weapons, which appeared to be especially successful against the shadow wolves. I battled my direction through the scuffle, Kloss next to me. We were attempting to arrive at Rasha, realizing that she was the way to finishing this. Yet, the Umbra Wolf had different plans. As we approached Rasha, it ventured between us, its huge structure shutting out the blurring daylight. "You can't stop what is to come," its voice reverberated in my mind. "The period of obscurity has arrived." I held fast, directing more power than I ever had previously. "We'll see about that."

Henry*** Dean’s voice sliced through the night, dripping with scorn. "The omega wants to play Alpha," he drawled, his smirk sharp enough to cut. The crowd of wolves parted around us, forming a wide circle. Their movements were almost synchronized, as if compelled by an unspoken force. Shadows flickered under the dim moonlight, their eyes glowing with a mixture of curiosity and dread. Whispers rippled through the ranks, barely audible over the low growls of those in wolf form. The tension was palpable, an electric charge in the air that seemed to grow with every breath.

Ice asks. “A witch I met in New Orleans,” Bo replies with a smile. Seems like more than a friend to me. “She’ll meet you at the airport when you land in Portland. From there, it’s about a six and a half hour drive to Crescent Shadow territory.” I nod my head. Ice sees my face and turns to them. “Can we go now?” She asks. “Of course,” Gray nods his head. “Get some sleep. Tomorrow will be a long day, you’ll need your rest.”

Kassandra's POV: First off let me tell you how I got to be an omega in my pack. It was one tragic night when I was 14 and I was at home with my parents, the alpha and luna of the Red river pack in texas. I had just got home from school and went to take a nap when I heard a noise from the living room. I went down to check it out and saw that three rogues had found their way into our house. Next thing I know my father was dead and my mother told me to run and that's what i did.

Voron screams through his bullhorn, his voice cracking with a sudden, primitive terror. The northern fighters panic. Three of the mechanical mortars discharge with a dull, heavy *thump*, sending canisters of silver dust screaming into the air above the river. But before the metal can even bloom into a cloud, Clyde moves. The Shadow Alpha lets out a roar that shakes the valley to its core. A massive, fifty-foot silhouette of an obsidian wolf erupts from his skin, a mountain of liquid black energy that leaps across the boiling river. The shadow-spirit swallows the silver canisters whole, the metal exploding harmlessly inside the void of his darkness, suffocating the chemical fire before a sing

Raven stood, Shadow erupting from her in a wave of black and gold, tearing The Wraith’s darkness apart, shredding the shadows that clung to her. The Wraith staggered, his eyes wide, his power flickering. “You… what are you?” he gasped. Raven stepped forward, Shadow swirling around her, her gold eyes locked on his. “I am Shadowstorm.” She lunged, her blade a streak of black fire, slicing through the last of The Wraith’s defense, plunging into his chest. The Wraith screamed, shadows bursting from him, twisting, writhing, before being sucked into the blade, the darkness tearing away piece by piece.
