Chapter 1

I've been on my own for 5 years after my parents were killed by my old Alpha. He was a cruel man. He killed my parents just because they were Omega's. He always said all omega's were good for was cleaning and cooking. In his eyes we weren't even part of the pack, just slaves for the more important wolves.

Not everyone shared his view though. Other wolves from the pack would often show us kindness but they would get rewarded with berating and beatings. We were scum. After awhile others wouldn't be as kind to us anymore. They wouldn't treat us like dirt but they wouldn't step in to protect us anymore either. Just pitty looks, which we understood. No sense to get beaten just for being a decent wolf.

My parents always made sure everything was perfect for the Alpha and his Luna. They were lead Omega's but that didn't matter. The Alpha found dust under a lamp. Not much but it was enough to be killed for apparently. They could feel his anger as he made his way down to our little falling apart shack. Knowing something was different this time, they told me and my sister to run into the woods and not to look back.

We hesitated but our parents ushered us out the back door. Just as we made it to the forest line we heard the door slam open with so much force I'm sure he had kicked it off the hinges. We heard yelling and my sister cuddled close to me scared and shaking as we listened. We heard him ask them where we were and our parents saying they didn't know.

We heard our mother scream after he slapped her. My father yelled at him for hurting his mate but that just earned him a punch. Not wanting my baby sister to hear what was going on I pushed her towards the woods. I told her to go hide and not to come out until I came back. I had to help my parents.

I run back into the house, running face first into the Alpha hoping I had enough force to knock him on his ass. I wasn't big for my age, but I wasn't small either. It only made him stumble. As quick ad lightning he corrected himself and slapped me so hard across my face.

"You little runt. I'll kill you for that."

"No!" My father screamed running toward the Alpha as he closed in on me.

Neither one of us saw he had extended his claws until he had slit my fathers throat. I watched my father fall the floor holding his neck while my mom cried out for him. I crawled over to him crying with my mother. The Alpha grabs my mother by her hair pulling her up. As she struggles against his pull I see her mouth the word run to me. I hesitate and this time she screams it at me as the Alpha slits her throat too.

I run as fast as I can out the back listening to him call after me. I keep looking behind me as I run, looking for the Alpha. I know I have to keep an eye out for Liza too. As I'm running I scan the woods for her. It isn't until I hear scream do I realize I'm to late. The Alpha has found her. Her cries are cut short. I failed. I failed my whole family because I wasn't strong enough or fast enough.

I keep running, crying so much I can barely see where I'm going until I reach the end of the alphas territory. I know my only hope is to get out and stay far away from him. I'll be a Rogue from now on. After what just happened I'll never join another pack.
