It's presented as natural order, but it's really about power and control." I could feel the tension in the room shift. Everyone knew why this topic was relevant today.

Omegas carried trays and jugs from the kitchen, weaving around the stronger bodies with practiced care. The hierarchy was visible in every line, every glance. At the top stood the Alpha and his future Luna, seated at the highest table, their plates always the fullest, their cups always filled first. The Beta and Gamma flanked them, solid pillars of authority. Below them, ranked in order of strength and service, were the elite warriors and seasoned scouts. Lower still, the general warriors, trainees, and specialized roles—the blacksmith, the healer, the seers. At the very bottom, scraping what fell through the cracks, were the omegas.

“I don’t know where to start.” Dad sighs again and shakes his head. “Start from explaining what the hell this omega thing is.” I say gently. “In the werewolf world. There’s another type of hierarchy. Same with how with humans there’s hierarchy of class, where some are middle class and some are high class. Well In the werewolf world, an omega is the weakest and least desirable among them. The Alpha is the highest, followed by his Luna, his beta and then gamma. The omega is always last place.”

They had no need for no-furs to continue their bloodlines, though they took them in to perpetuate the lie that they did. Before the catastrophe, Orangelo omegas were desired for breeding above all others because of their strong magic genes. It had not been uncommon for neighboring clans to raid their lands to steal omegas. Fear that raids and wars would become an epidemic after the rest of the continent lost their omegas was grounded in solid logic. Hence the secret of Orangelo omegas became closely guarded.

These are the only two sub-genders of humans here. In werewolf hierarchy, there are alphas, betas, deltas, gammas, and omegas in this order of command. These tell more on the rank of the werewolves rather than gender. So, even if a werewolf falls under a rank of a gamma, s/he can still either be an alpha or omega sub-gender in their human form.
