"Nina graduated top of her class..." "It's fine Mom. I don't understand." Nina sank into her chair. "Why would Thomas do this? Why me?" "Because he loved you," Her Mom said softly, tears in her eyes. "He saw something special in you, Nina. He always did." Lucas gathered his things. "Your godfather was a brilliant man, Ms. Grant. Brilliant and strategic. He didn't make decisions lightly. If he chose you for this, he had his reasons." He paused. "One more thing. The board doesn't know about you yet. Tomorrow will be... let's say, eventful. Be prepared."

The girl, who prided and found pleasure in coning sugar daddies with her late boyfriend. The fifteenth law of power…All great leaders since Moses have known that a feared enemy must be crushed completely, if one amber is left alight, no matter how dimly it smolders a fire will eventually break out. More is lost through stopping halfway than through total annihilation. The enemy will recover and will seek revenge. Crush him, not only in body but in spirit.

She knew he was just a normal wolf but his energy would probably be enough to get Brian and Serafino near enough before they are detected. As she takes his hand, she can feel a very powerful energy going through her and lets go of his hand just as fast as she took it. “You say you are just a normal wolf, right? Not an Alpha or any other creature combined, right?” Rebecca looked at him as if she did not believe him. “Nope, just a normal wolf, delta to be exact. Not even a beta, but everyone said that I had more power than that. But nope, just a normal wolf. Why?” He looked at her, waiting for her to say something.

“That I must be married for at least three consecutive months to gain any rights to contest the power structure. If not, it all goes to them permanently.” I stared at him. “So… I’m your key to taking back what’s yours.” “Yes.” My mind reeled. “But why me? You could’ve picked anyone. Someone from your world.” His eyes darkened. “The reason I chose you doesn’t concern you.” I froze at his curt response. Threading lightly, I asked, “And what’s your stepmother like?” “She hates weakness. She hates anything she can’t manipulate. And you… well, she obviously has nothing on you.”

I racked my brain about what possible position he has for commanding this kind of power until it hit me. There's only one person that is above the Holy Parliament, which is the acting government of our race and continent. It must be him. My nerves started shaking at the thought. It never once occurred in me that I would be able to meet someone of his caliber— “You may rise,” his voice echoes inside the chambers. I slowly lifted my head together with everyone else and looked at him standing and looking over us from the top of the raised platform. I stared at the staff he was holding.

I feel invincible. Then the realization slams into me like a wave, and the grin slips right off my face. No. I stumble back, my heart racing for an entirely different reason now. This kind of power can only mean one thing. I rub my face with both hands, trying to scrub away the thought, but it’s lodged there now. I’m her One. I close my eyes, groaning. Of all the women in Haebradia, it has to be her? I let out a humorless laugh, pacing back and forth in the garden.

he explained as I continued to listen. “Delania has the next most powerful command to mine, correct?” I asked, thinking that if things got out of hand her help might be needed. “Yes, the Luna command holds just as much weight as the alpha command but it cannot supersede the Alpha command. Basically to put it into perspective the Alpha command holds 100% authority, the Luna command holds 99.5% authority as she cannot override the Alpha,” he explained. “Okay, that’s all good to know. I believe that we all need practice, but I don't need anyone killing someone because things got out of hand. Thank you for that,” I replied and was grateful to know I had the power to keep things from going south

Zeus instructed. “Sonia is way more powerful than you think, if I eventually acquire this power, this fight wouldn’t be against her alone, Thanatos would know that his reign is being threatened and would love above anything else to stop me from doing such” Valerie indicated. Zeus stepped down from his throne and approached her; his entire body frame covered her. “Thantos is just one deity; we are giving you our powers. If you use them well, how do you think one deity can stop you?” Zeus asked.

Usually Betas can never be above any Alphas but the power system in the capital pack works in a different way. The Alpha King is the supreme power so to be a Beta and a Gamma to him is equivalent and even more than being an Alpha to another pack. So in terms of power, I can easily beat John Adams but I choose to stay down until the Alpha King asks me to do it. "My daughter's reputation is tarnished! Alpha King being the King, does whatever he wishes. Marks one but sleeps with another. Tell me how that is being fair here," John Adams asks me this time.

I pushed, trying to get him to show whatever power he thinks he has that gave him the audacity to say he’s immune to my power. There was only one person in this world immune to my power and that person isn’t even my son; it’s Octavia Adler. Any other person that isn’t her bow to my power regardless of how fucking strong they think they are, they would never be a match for me. “Why? Does my power frighten you now?” I questioned, knowing fully well that his tongue was too twisted for him to make out any words. His pupils rolled so far back that they disappeared into his head, his frail old body shook, convulsing violently as he forced his hand to his neck as if trying to get a hold of the forc
