Silver didn’t need to ask what it was—she had always felt it. She remembered the night she was born, the sky illuminated by a moon that had turned completely silver, casting the forest in an ethereal glow. Her parents, exhausted and elated, had held her close, their faces pale with awe. Even in her infancy, Silver had felt that the moon’s glow had left something inside her—something that pulsed quietly, waiting for the right moment to awaken.

"No need shifting. Just enter now. Don't worry; nothing bad will happen to you." I nodded, and then I quickly followed her words. Soon as I stepped into the barrier, a silver smoke shrouded me, giving me a pleasant feeling. I closed my eyes, enjoying the moment, and soon as I opened it, the reflection of myself reflected in the silver surface of the barrier. My hair changed color to a silver color; my eyes gained a silver color. My skin has become paler, but it has also been made translucent by my silver eyes. "Wow!" Rana's mouth dropped open as if she was surprised herself with all this beauty.

One of them snatched the three years old Noah James who was crying his lungs out. The child was grabbed by the waist and an injection full of silver was kept near his neck. Everyone knew that a child could never survive even a drop of silver. Hazel who was pregnant with Talia was begging them to leave her son. The man holding the small Noah fell down, dropping the child. Ezequiel hurriedly scooped up the baby and saw Ashley standing there carrying those Push daggers.

It threw me off. The fact that he was a silver blood, I scrutinized his appearance in the photo, there wasn't any resemblance to Hannah or her mother, no distinct silver-colored hair, he just looked like an average werewolf. I had seen his wolf a couple of times but it was just a normal brown color, nothing special. When they found out that he was a silver blood, they took him along with Melissa, but they didn't find anything in him. The gene for a silver blood was there, but it was dormant, it could only be expressed in females, and so they killed him, labeling him as waste.

“They do not have a name yet, but I love calling them the ‘Blitz’ because of the swift balls of molten silver they can blast off in a quarter minute.” “Molten silver?” I shift my attention to her. She adjusts her glasses and smiles like a professor about to school a student. “Six months ago, I made a proposal to the research and development team about an idea I had.” She turns her attention to the guns, caressing her fingers along the barrel of one of the guns. “It is about using raw silver in battle.”

He breathes next to my ear. I can smell the hot metal from here. The next minute I feel it searing pain on my skin by my lower back. I wail from the pain and my breath is gone. I see white. He then throws silver powder on my wound to prevent it from closing and healing. I scream louder it burns like hell, he just laughs at me. If it ever heals there will be a scar. I throw up from the pain and my tears are flowing down my face.

“You think you are. But turning isn’t like flipping a switch. It changes everything. The way you see the world. The way it sees you.” “Then show me.” He hesitated. She stepped closer. “If I’m marked, if I’m hunted then I need to be able to fight back.” Kael reached into his coat and pulled out a small silver dagger. Its handle was carved bone; the blade etched with runes. “This is called a moon fang. Forged in pact fire. Used for ritual awakenings.” She stared at it. “You’re saying I can just... cut myself and become one of you?”

It wasn’t macho; it was math. Silver came later, in a windowless room with a table and a locked case, not as a thrill but as a lecture with props. With a gloved hand, Todd laid a handful of objects on a cloth—cutlery, jewelry, a small bar that looked like nothing—and told me the truth: how silver bites wolves, why it does, what it represents to them, and how it turns from defense to cruelty faster than you think if you wield it like a fantasy. He let me hold the bar with gloves, feel the wrong chill of it, then put it away. “Last resort,” he said. “The line that ruins a dinner table if you cross it for sport.” I nodded. I got it. Some power you respect by not touching.

Temporary perhaps but useful. Before I could answer, another voice entered smoothly. “I was wondering when this conversation would happen.” I turned sharply to the sight of Clara. The Silvermoon Luna approached us gracefully, silver fabric trailing behind her like moonlight over ice. Her expression was calm. Cassius looked mildly amused by her arrival. I stared at her coldly. “What do you want?” Clara’s gaze shifted briefly toward Alicia across the hall, then back to me. “The same thing you do.” I almost laughed.
