I screamed through the pain and broke them off him, one by one, until he was free. I cradled him against me, tears pouring down my face. "I've got you, my love. I've got you." He wrapped his tiny arms around my neck and sobbed. I kissed his cheeks over and over, whispering over and over that he was safe. Just then, a horrible screech echoed through the clearing. I turned. Ophelia. She arched backward violently, her eyes rolled up into her head, her mouth open in a silent scream as her body convulsed. Her skin cracked and blackened. The curse whatever was left of it was eating her alive.

Hades replied with a chuckle. Spitfire made a soft noise, making it clear Hades was open to putting his paws to good use. Doll barely registered the appearance of the black sand as it snaked its way in and around the cluster of lusting bodies. With King gone, the power of the Black Devil's throne was searching for a new avatar and running amok. Doll's little tinge of guilt called to it like a moth to a flame.

My jaw clenched and I exhaled nothing less than the sound of a growl. Looking in my rearview mirror before getting out, I noticed the color of my eyes had changed to black. They only turn black when I let my demon out, the demon that craves the sound of screams, the smell of blood, the sight of fear in someone’s eyes, the feeling of their bones crushing in my bare hands. With one last grumbled she pulled the gown off the hanger and put it on. She walked to the mirror and stared at her reflection. The gown was gorgeous, no doubt. With worried eyes, she glanced at her long leg sticking out of the slit that ended above her mid-thigh. Ophelia took a few long breaths and took off the gown. She blew dry her hair and pulled them in a low side bun, she left a loose strand of hair to fall freely over her face and pinned everything else neatly. Her claws retracted as she screamed in pain, writhing on the ground, her skin burning up and scalding, turning a dangerous red colour that will leave her scabbed up by tomorrow.
