She held out the book to Noah, wanting to part with it as soon as possible. Noah gladly took it before he turned to her. “Want to switch?” he said holding out his book. “It’s about a hero fighting to change the world.” Ophelia eyed the book hesitantly, wondering if another fairytale would poke another of her fresh wounds. In the end, she took it. Losing her mind for even a second while reading was a better bargain than leaving it to misery to be consumed. She eyed the hardcover allowing her fingers to trace the embroidered title.

he shakes his head. Rowan bends to pick something off the table. “Here…” he hands me a book. I frown and look at the cover. Hero Author- Lauren Rowe. “Is it good?” I ask him. “Rayna recommended it…” he tells me. I nod, with champaign and the book the flight didn’t seem that long. I was bawling my eyes out on the first chapter already. Goodness Colby is the best guy out there. When I’m on the sixtieth chapter Rowan tells me we’ve landed.

Dark Honor volume 1

Dark Honor volume 1

It's a handwritten book by a toddler. Lucifer looked at the drawing. It had a sun with two adults and a child in the middle. The book had a name written: Jessica's mommy and daddy. Lucifer glances through the book and turns to the second page; it says to believe. The third page says, ‘I have not abandoned you.’ The fourth page, ‘if you are reading this it is because it was planned you find this.’ As Lucifer turns the page, he sees gods hand reaching out of the sky. As he checks the other pages, it is all blank. This is where your story begins. Tossing it aside, Lucifer can't help but tear up, seeing this girl's picture with long blonde hair and about seven years old.

The Day She Stopped Waiting

The Day She Stopped Waiting

Something bigger than superheroes. Reasonable honestly. Heroes aren't people who never fall. God. Heroes are people who stand up again. Fair. Even when it hurts. Reasonable. Even when they're scared. God. Even when everyone sees them fall. Fair. And somewhere between scraped knees, sister kisses, and the breathtaking realization that courage isn't perfection— Lily discovered something extraordinary. The strongest people aren't the ones who never break. Sometimes... they're the ones who keep going anyway.

10 chapters in and I hope it’s second chance book. I love a good “leaving my shitty husband for a better man” plot but sometimes I love a good “I need to get my wife back” plot as well. Sometimes I want to read about how a relationship was pulled back from the brink and I feel this is goi to be it.

Run Fox Run

Run Fox Run

It did not make sense. This Sarah person could be me if I did not do all I could to alter my appearance. Her last name is Griffen, was she related to my teacher? None of this made sense. I grabbed the book the picture fell out of and gave it a look over. The True History Of Supers. I have read lots of books about the accident that caused the mutants and heroes. It started off as a cure for cancer and how some of the side effects gave people their super powers. However, one person was not as lucky as the others. He was patient zero. He went rabid and began making mutants, from a simple bite or scratch. This book is different from the others. I was taught, I do not recognize the author's name

My Unborn Heroes

My Unborn Heroes

Cold sweat instantly soaked through my nightgown. I, Anna Everton, stood frozen at the bathroom door. I was too terrified to move. My stomach was in knots and my brain was on sensory overload. Honestly, it was a toss-up which one was worse. The calm voice from inside my belly came again. He sounded wise beyond his years. I named him Caleb. 'Mommy, don't be scared. He's probably listening in from the study right now. He's judging your condition based on how often you're throwing up. Hurry up and act as weak and fragile as you're supposed to.'

Liars Like Us - Book 1: Legacy of Lies

The city smelled of rain and burning wood somewhere distant — someone’s message already sent. She arrived at the lieutenant’s safehouse before the moon knew the plan. Two sentries in faded coats strolled the low wall, cigarette tips glowing. Valentina watched them breathe and counted their heartbeats. Marco signaled. In one motion, they were on the wall: a rope, a drop, two knives cutting a throat before a sound could form.

The Real Heroine Logs In

She nodded again and again, taking the badge with both hands, her voice breaking. "Thank you, Eleanor. Thank you!" The comments exploded again–this time in gold. [Damn! That level of grace; insane!] [This is what a true female lead looks like–lifting someone out of the abyss instead of holding a grudge!] [Girls help girls! I'm calling it–this is the most hype esports story of the year!] [Orion team, let's go! Win the championship for Janet, too!]

Witch of the Throne

Witch of the Throne

The worst thing; no one from heaven descended to aid them this time. After a decade of hopelessness and complete surrender, Heroes rose from various origins—holding on to their own intentions. They, who dared to scream in the middle of the conjurers' blissful singing, dared to steal the scripture from the wicked creatures who were granted the power to overwrite their destinies — concluded themselves victorious thereon.
