I got up from the bed and walked around the room, still no pain, how weird. I noticed the bookshelf and decided to take a look. There were so many books, some with older worn covers and others a bit more newer looking. I picked up a small red book and read the cover ‘A Lycanthropy Reader; WEREWOLVES IN WESTERN CULTURE’. I flicked through the pages and put it back on the shelf, a little too intense for some early morning reading. I picked up another one and read the cover, ‘The Garden of Eden’ by Ernest Hemingway. Second bookcase, two shelves down, with a green cover, the words are jumbled up with the rest of my memories. Lycanthrope Mythology, the book cover reads in a delicate calligraphy. Quickly, I take it and return to the living room. The book looks to be decades old, definitely passed down through generations. Now that I think about it, almost all the books in Sebastian's office seem to be aged and fragile.

Maybe I had read it wrong. Or maybe it was another Pride and Prejudice. But no. It was the same book, only with a different cover. This one had a black hard cover with the title engraved into it alongside the author’s name.

The life we led with Alester was less than lacking. I took the lid off, smelling that familiar scent of his. My throat thickened with sadness, making it hard for me to swallow. My hands shook as I grabbed Percy’s favorite black shirt. I sniffed it, trying to engrave that scent into memory. I held it close as I continued to investigate the contents of the box further. Moving to the next shelf, I spotted a worn leather-bound book, edges frayed from overuse: Hybrid Wolves with Magical Signatures. And a thin one compared to the rest: The Forbidden Transition Between Elements.

Others were modern thrillers and contemporary fiction, their glossy jackets still vibrant. But then she came to a section that felt...different. These books weren’t stacked like the others. They were nestled into the shelves like treasures, rich, cracked leather covers, some with gold foiling so worn it was barely legible. Her hand paused over one that read, The History of the Black Moon Pack. Her brows knit. “Pack?” she murmured under her breath, pulling it from the shelf.

How didn't she see it before? She examined it. Its worn leather cover showed the test of time, revealing faint traces of intricate inscriptions that seemed to pulse with an otherworldly glow. For some reason, Thalia's heartbeat sped up in excitement. She traced the inscriptions on the book with her fingers. They were etched in silver and gold, and they formed a mesmerizing tapestry of arcane symbols.

Johnathan asked him. “It’s back at camp. I can go get it.” Owen said. “No, you won’t be able to get out. Spelled. You are just as stuck in here as I am. Describe the book to me.” Johnathan said. “It looked ancient, and it was bound in leather. The pages were charred and there was some kind of beast on the front cover with the words carpe tenebras.” Owen said.
