Outer Banks Rafe Novels & Stories

then he murmured, giving up the fight he knew he wouldn’t win. While he disappeared behind the swinging door, I turned toward the shop’s small window facing the alley. In the daylight, it looked almost peaceful, just a strip of cracked pavement, a few dumpsters, and a wall tagged with faded graffiti. But at night it had been something else entirely. Rafe had died there, and whoever killed him had left almost nothing behind. It was too clean, too calculated, and I couldn’t let it go without getting justice for him. When the owner returned, he held a USB drive between two fingers like it weighed more than plastic should. “This is everything from that night,” he said, pushing it into my hand. “

Rafe held my hands tenderly, his tenderness broke something in me and I began to cry. "Shhhh.... don't cry baby" he said wiping the tears from my eyes with his hands, " Ivana will be found soon , and you will be reunited with her". I nodded like a child sniffing and scrunching my nose to stop more tears from coming. "He wants to meet us tomorrow at his hotel for a quick briefing. Will you call Zed and tell him about it or would you prefer I do that?" , I asked Rafe as he stood up ready to go back to work at the bar. Rafe was good at bartending, he made the best cocktails and could create magic with the bottles and a shaker; the management of the club just recently promoted him to supervise t

Rafe came to me three months after the choice, in the late afternoon on a day when Dominic was at a council meeting and the house was quiet. He knocked on the door of the room I now used as an office—my maps spread across the walls, the pack territory coming into clearer relief with every week of work—and he looked like himself, which was to say he looked like someone who had done the internal work and was on the other side of it, not unchanged but real. "I want to talk to you," he said. "About Cael. About some things I should have told you earlier."

I blinked when the soft glow of the crystal lamp hit my eyes, my heart hammering wildly as the man who had taken me stepped into view. Rafe. That was the name his men had whispered with reverence and fear. He is a charismatic criminal leader, they called him the one who ruled the city’s shadows with a velvet smile and an iron fist. He was taller than I expected, broad-shouldered in a tailored black shirt unbuttoned at the collar, revealing a glimpse of smooth, tanned skin marked by a single silver scar along his clavicle. His eyes were a piercing hazel that seemed to drink in every detail of my disheveled state.

I have no idea if he’s watching in real time or how long that thing has been there. But I know he’s capable of anything. His pathetic nature won’t relent until he owns what he wants. And he thinks he owns Meeka. I can't shake the feeling that he's not just tracking Meeka's location but monitoring everything happening on her phone as well. The gate sensor beeps faintly below, bringing my focus back as headlights sweep across the marble driveway. Finally. Rafe’s matte-black Range Rover glides in smoothly and quietly. The engine cuts off moments later, and he steps out wearing his usual leather jacket, moving with that relaxed yet controlled stride that makes others underestimate him. He carrie

Rafe nervously stepped up to the door of Mr Jones Vones' house. His parents had told him the tales of Mr Jones Vones. The man's wealth and power, but he had not expected the heavy door before him to be guarded by a man with a gun. Rafe remembered that day like it was yesterday. He had been so scared and confused as he and his family stumbled into the city of Cayton. He was just fifteen years of age. Previously, his friends had told him. He had been warned of the dangers of the city, but the sight of the guards of Mr Jones' grandfather, Mr Cayton, had been the most frightening of all. He had been so hungry and exhausted, but he had never expected to be arrested.

I commanded her. "I'll make sure I'm the only one she marries no matter what happens. And I won't allow any reason to change that." I whispered loudly. "Even if I had to kill all the men who approaches him, I would." "Okay, boss, I'll go first," Rafilla said and left. "Not yet. Wait for me dear, someday you will know everything too. After my plans." Rafaelia's POV. I rearranged my make up and short dress, that you could see almost the soul. With my beautiful body and face, no man can refuse me.

“Have fun explaining that to Rafa.” I ignored him, putting my gun back. By the time we reached the villa, Rafa was waiting in his office. He wasn't sitting on his desk; he was standing, one hand in his pocket, the other holding a glass of whiskey. Kane stopped at the door. “I’d leave you two to it,” he said quickly, then slipped out. Coward. I stood still; Rafa’s silence was worse than yelling. Finally, he spoke. “Care to explain why they are dead men at my dock?”

He radiated “touch my daughter and I’ll break your spine in half.” Rafe flicked his gaze over each of them quickly, trying not to look like he was cataloguing threats. Then his eyes landed on Baylee. He froze for a second. Then, to her disgust, he smiled. “Baylee Vale,” he said. “Damn. You’re still pretty.” Heather’s knife hit the wall point-first between Rafe’s head and his ear with a loud thunk. Rafe jerked. Heather smiled sweetly. “Oops,” she said.

I placed a hand on his arm, feeling the hard tension in the muscle. “It’s Rafe,” I said quietly. “He’s real.” Only then did Kael’s posture ease a fraction. He stepped aside just enough for Rafe to slip into the vault, then forced the heavy door shut again and reset the manual lock as best the damaged mechanism allowed. Rafe leaned against the wall, breathing hard. Up close the damage was worse. Deep claw marks crossed his chest and shoulder. One eye was nearly swollen shut. He had fought his way down through levels that had been actively trying to kill him.
