I laugh when Bear walks onto the stage, the crowd goes quiet as he towers over Ash. Ash grins before he shouts. "Bring it on, old fella." Bear throws his head back and laughs before pulling Ash into his arms and ruffling his hair; I giggle as I watch the pair. Some mighty Killer and grizzly bear. Ash manages to untangle himself from Bear before he makes his way into the corner as Bear shouts.

Evan and Becky stood at the arbour’s entrance. The light emanating from the portal grew brighter as something moved through the portal itself and materialized there. When the light dimmed, the arbour they now overcrowded it with a black bear standing there on four paws with a knapsack clutched between his teeth. “Gemma, remove the mirror quickly. There’s no room in here for anything else to come through.”

In the Shadow Realm, the bear returned, limping into the cavern before Fagus and Casper. “Well?” Fagus asked. The bear growled out in the old tongue, “She was guarded... by the future Alpha.” Casper's hand curled into a fist. “That boy! What's he doing in the human world, and did a boy just defeat you!.” “He is strong, he nearly killed me” The bear complained . “And the girl… it seems her powers flickered.” “Then the spell is fully broken,” Casper growled. “Prepare the next move. We’ll need more than beasts this time.”

Before I could question what he meant, he suddenly pulled a chain beside him. A heavy metal gate lifted with a slow, grating sound. Then I saw it. My stomach dropped. A massive bear stepped forward, its dark eyes locked onto me. I barely had time to react before Rowan gave a single order. “Survive.”

I quickly wiped it away. "Yes, well, no time for that. we need to look after the injured." I smiled, pushing myself off my father's comforting warm chest. Suddenly, there was a loud crash and an angry, furious roar as a big black bear crashed through some shrubbery. The bear stumbled around like a wobbly mess. "What the....." Eoin startled as my dad looked closer. "Gideon?" he asked as the air shimmered, and my father in law appeared. I averted my eyes because yeah, no girl alive wants a full-on view of her father in law in his full glory. I tucked my face into Ben's side.

“Don’t worry Eve, the only serial killer here is old Ben, a big ole Black Bear that every hunter seems to see but never kills.” My eyes went wide “There are bears here?” He chuckled giving me a gentle push through the doorway “Yes Eve, there are Bears in the forest, and wolves, but we’ll be in here safe and sound.” I suddenly felt foolish and felt the blush rise up from my chest. He moved around me to drop the bags and close the door behind me before coming back behind me and wrapping his arms around me. “I’ll always keep you safe Eve…” he whispered close to my ear “… even if I have to fight old Ben.” He kissed my neck and whispered again “So what do you think?”

The bear roared in pain and fell to the ground, defeated. Jerry and his family were in shock. They had never seen magic like this before. The hooded figures approached them and introduced themselves as a group of powerful wizards who had been tracking the bear for days. They explained that the bear had been possessed by an evil spirit, and they had been tasked with defeating it before it could cause any more harm.
