The metallic tang filled my mouth, and for a split second, I felt my lungs seize, the air thick and heavy.
I forced myself to stand, knees trembling. “You hit like a bitch,” I spat, wiping my mouth.
She tilted her head, eyes glowing with that same wild darkness. “Do I?”
Her hands twitched and the floor beneath us split open, from the cracks, voices crawled out.
There were whispers, screams and they were familiar ones and this caused me to freeze.
