I was not the Crimson Priestess and even though I wasn’t sure what that entirely meant to me or the pack itself I would not allow Melina to tarnish that. I started looking at Rogan’s computer and the few books it seemed he had read to get information about who I might be. The idea of him looking at all of these items made me feel good that he cared that much. I picked up the first book which was written by a fellow wolf as it had far too many details about where wolves might be located at. I followed the geographics of the writing and realize that the Cresent Moon Pack couldn't be further than a few days away from us if traveling by wolf. That made the idea of an attack now hard to believe.

The second piece was just the same as the first, but adding more detail and background after they viewed their mistakes in the first. "Taking both of these." Ren rolled them up. "I take it as an illustration of your old home?" Two gave him a sad nod. "Hmm, ok. Come along now." Ren pulled the book to him and started to read as they walked. They made it out of the courtyard when Zero and Three ran up. "Can we come as well, Master?" Zero asked. Three just looked on excitied.

Crazy dimwits. I stay quiet and walk away from them as quickly as I could although I could still hear them laughing and calling me names. I walk straight to my locker and hurriedly take out the books I needed so I could get to class before Gabrielle and her minions catch up to me or even worse get to class before me.

He must know for sure now that she was lying. “It has your name in it. It is yours, right?” She nodded, surveying it. It was all there. She had forgotten about it. “There were some loose pages. I gathered them all up and put them back in. I hope I got them all,” he said. “You did,” she said softly, touched, embarrassed. “I followed the trail of pages, and the funny thing is….they lead me down the alley.” She continued to look down at the book, refusing to make eye contact.

It wasn't until she noticed the strange book tucked away in the corner that she was able to distract herself from her thoughts. "I almost missed one," she whispered. As she walked over to it, she noticed that its cover was worn, and it seemed to emit a faint glow that caught her attention. Maybe it's how the moon perfectly acted as its own spotlight that made it seem so glowy, but it's not just that. She somehow felt a little hint of amusement as she stared at it. As she approached the book, she saw the shinny title written on it, Lunaria, and she couldn't help but be intrigued. The moonlight shining down on the pages illuminated the words in a way that made them seem to come alive.

I muttered, opening the first page. I needed to start working on myself so that I could erase all thoughts of Xavier’s sister from his memory. On the first page of the book was a table of content, showing all that was to be found in the book. I scrolled down from the introduction and jumped to “Casting your first spell.” I traced my finger on the dotted lines and found the page number. I opened the book and when I got to this page, I stopped. The name of the contact was boldly written in capital letters and it took the whole page. Opening to the next page, I found it’s content.

I bet that had to be a tremendous shock for her. I skim through the pages, finding nothing before moving to the next book, finding it equally uninteresting and completely foreign as I move from one to the next until I find one that’s binding is cracked and almost puffy in appearance. I tip it to the side, trying to discern if there is something inside the binding or if it is just naturally like that. A small press to the center of the spine and I hear the crackle of paper and I know I’ve found something.

“There are some things written there that will help you understand your new self.” “That huge book? Reading it sounds stressful already.” “The book just looks big,” the man smirked and he got up as well, “but the contents only fill the first few pages. The remaining pages are blank.” Zara frowned. At that point, to her, everything about that realm was confusing and unnecessarily extra. As she scoffed, she asked, “Why would anyone make such a page? The writer could have just packaged the first few pages and saved paper.”
