Gasps echoed through the chamber, and all eyes turned to Gina. Confused, Gina's eyes widened in shock, and her jaw dropped. I raked my hair through my hair trying to figure out where he could be when a truck pulled up, Todd was driving like a maniac, Commander Ryan in the passenger seat. “Get in!” He bellowed, and he didn’t have to tell us twice. We jumped in the bed of the truck, crouching down immediately as Todd stepped on the gas. The drive was long and already felt like it took days instead of hours. Cassi’s hands were clenched tight around the tailgate, her knuckles white and eyes wide. Gideon opened the gates of Ark One Base. Through those gates came Griffin, Leonard, and a large group of fighters. By the time the sun rose the next morning, blood had spread across every corner of the three bases. Hayley and her people had fought through the entire night. The directors and senior leadership of all three bases were dead. Their management structures had been completely wiped out and replaced. During the uprising, Gideon personally killed Lionel, the Level One manager. Lionel was the father of Penelope, the girl who caused Nora's death.

As she climbed into bed, her phone buzzed with a text from Rylan: "Thank you for a wonderful evening. Sweet dreams, beautiful." Ravenna stared at the message, her finger hovering over the reply button. Finally, she typed out a response: "The pleasure was all mine. Goodnight, Rylan." As she set her phone aside, Ravenna closed her eyes, steeling herself for what was to come. The game was far from over, and she couldn't afford to let her guard down. Rylan may have killed her in her past life, may have betrayed her in the worst possible way, but in this life, she would be the one to come out on top.
