I'm not so sure myself so I'm asking you to write a review (no pressure, I'd just like some feedback.) This is Volume 2, A Dark, Desolate World, where the story continues on where the first volume stopped. Our main character Isuzu goes to South Britain, the British colony in Terra Australis to speak with the person who made her go there in the first place, the General.

Taking a deep breath, I opened it. The pages within were unlike anything I'd ever seen. They shimmered with an inner light, covered in script that flowed like liquid silver. As I began to read, the words seemed to lift off the page, surrounding me in a cocoon of ethereal light. "In the twilight between worlds, a child shall be born," the text began, its voice echoing in my mind. "Neither fully of one realm nor the other, this child of two worlds shall hold within them the power to mend the cosmic tapestry... or to unravel it completely."

I'm not familiar with these people, but I could fully sense that they were about to do something hideous. Not wanting to make a sound, I peeped to cross the room, but as I began to move my feet, the surroundings started to change as if my head was spinning through loopholes. I screamed at the top of my lungs, trying to grasp something to hold on to. Chasing my breath, I slowly settled to a muddy ground where I could hear gunshots from a distance. It wasn't just once, but there's also consecutive sparring of swords!

I lost the count how many times we made love. Later when I get exhausted, Aspen took me in his arms, and I placed my head on his chest inviting the sweet slumber after our lovemaking. I lifted my free hand, and my nails elongated into sharp claws. Sliding one claw against the palm of my hand, I cut my flesh. It wasn’t very deep, but it was enough to cover the crest in blood when I squeezed my hand. At first, nothing happened, but then the necklace lit up with a purple light. It was dim at first but then increased in brightness until it was nearly blinding. In an instant, the entire room was lit up with a flashing light, but it was gone just as quickly. It took my eyes a moment to adjust to the suddenly blinding light, but when I could see clearly, I saw twelve black wolves circle me, covered in a purple haze.

This was what it mеant to bе truly alivе, to burn with such sеaring brightnеss that thе rеst of thе world palеd into insignificancе.
