Shadows of the Lost

Arc 4 Deadly Encounter From here on out, Death will tail you wherever you may go. For the people you care for and for the people you have sacrificed, you’ll have no choice but to face him head-on, battling such a cruel war in which the consequence would be your loved one’s head served in a silver platter. Probably the most challenging story I have written. With about 5 drafts and two years of crafting, it’s my longest work. It’s thrilling. I revisit it sometimes and, he, even I get overwhelmed and awed. I mean, it feels like I’m not the one who wrote it.

I love the world building of this novel! Even when you’re only in chapter one you can already see how the author meticulously planned the settings of the story. It’s descriptive so even if the world is new and unfamiliar the readers could still easily imagine what it’s like.

CEREBUS

CEREBUS

Above them, carved into the wall in jagged letters: ONLY TRUTH MAY GUIDE YOU. ONE PATH LEADS TO THE BLADE. ONE LEADS TO DEATH. Ellie swallowed hard. “Great. Another riddle.” The water in the bowl rippled. The voice came again — deeper this time, ancient and echoing, resonant in her bones: “To choose the path, offer what cannot be replaced. Blood or bond. Flesh or heart.” Ellie’s pulse jumped. “What does that mean?” The walls shivered. From either side of the chamber, smoke began to pool — rising, thickening, shaping.

The First Heir

The First Heir

“Welcome to the fourth level of the challenge ground. You’ll experience the most brutal challenge here. “This is a space that doesn’t exist in the human world. It’s a space that was separated from the other shore due to the joint efforts of the ancient sages. “Here, you’ll fight individually or in groups. You’ll face challenges from the other shore. Only those who successfully find the exit will be eligible to enter the fifth level of the challenge. “Of course, you don't have to worry. If you die in this dimension, you’ll be sent to the outside world safely. “Are you ready, my warriors?” As the 3D bust finished speaking, electrons flashed in the sky. Thereafter, something like an electronic

Perfectly Ruined

Perfectly Ruined

Venessa’s eyes rolled back as her body went limp, collapsing to the floor. Blowing a pink bubble of gum, Delilah tilted her head with mock pity. “Sorry, darling. I’ll be taking back my place tonight.” She pouted, then smirked. “This is where your hell begins.” Behind her, Death stepped into the house like a shadow. He slung Venessa’s unconscious body over his shoulder as if she weighed nothing. A golden entry pass slipped from her hand and clattered to the ground. Delilah picked it up, brushing imaginary dust off it before trailing after Death with a smirk.

The Wolf’s Bride

The Wolf’s Bride

“If you fail to complete the challenge within ten years, you won’t be acknowledged by the Path. The heavenly lightning will be sent down, and you’ll be destroyed.” That information shocked Andrius. It appeared that one would still require superior strength because passing the tribulation did not mean everything would be fine. Even after getting to Creation Mountain, one could end up dead if they failed to complete the challenge. After processing that information, Andrius had new questions. Since Gluttony was happy to answer his questions, Andrius asked, “Besides ascending the Creation Mountain, are there other ways to enter the Upper Realms?” “Of course!” Gluttony immediately affirmed Andriu

The Luna’s Deadly Game

The Luna’s Deadly Game

“It’s a different reality for each of you, and the challenge will test your strength, your wit, and your survival instincts.” Althea muttered under her breath, loud enough for me to catch. “Maybe this time, she’ll be the first to fail.” Mirena snickered. “She’s lucky she’s made it this far.” “When you defeat your beast, a path will open up. There is no time limit, but the faster you finish, the better,” he said. His eyes landed on me briefly before moving on to the others. “Good luck to all of you.” He stepped aside, signaling that it was time to enter the forest.

A Chance With The Hockey Alpha Captain

Maybe he expected that. “You are sure?” he asked. “Yes.” “This is not a game, Damon.” “I know.” “If you lose, there will be no second chance.” “I understand.” He studied my face for a long second, like he was trying to see if I was bluffing. I wasn’t. Finally, he nodded once. “Then it will be done according to tradition.” The elders stepped forward quickly. Elder Marcus cleared his throat. “The challenge will be divided into three parts,” he announced. “Strength. Strategy. Control.”

The Death Timer

The Death Timer

When our whole family saw the death timer for my sister will end on her sixteenth birthday, she became the most important person in the family. She suddenly took priority in everything, from food to dresses, and even bedtime stories. I felt for her, but I was also jealous that she was given everything. However, a day before her sixteenth birthday, my parents locked me up in the storeroom in fear that I would make a mess of things. I kept hammering the door, crying, "Mom, let me out! I'm having a fever, and my head hurts!" Mom didn't believe me. "Just stop! Your sister will die in just a day, and you're playing sick to gain our sympathy?! Don't you understand anything?!" "No…" I tried m

Princess of Death

Rhae noticed that he was sitting near a large pit in the ground, lit by the only lamp in the centre of the room. Rhae began moving towards the man growling like a wild animal, yet was stopped short by Katyana sneaking a meaningful look towards her. Katyana turned back the man and leisurely stepped off the table, landing with a thud. "You look like a man who likes a challenge yeah? How about you fight me in the Hole and then if I win, you get out and I'll let your guys live. If you win you can stay here as much as you like". Katyana challenged the man, grinning widely all the while. "No, if I win, everyone in this goddamn tavern belongs to me and my guild, got that?" The man tugged off his sh

Death & Life

Death & Life

She's Hel and hell bent on revenge, she's not going to stop until she's completed it," Jackson said firmly and I gritted my teeth. "Damn Norse Gods," I mumbled sourly in irritation. How appropriate for one who judges Death to be confronting Death and the Angel of Death, I think as I change into my black tendrils. Destiny finally appeared standing above the black menacing clouds. She waved her hand briskly and shards of black glass like spears shot across the sky at us. I pulled Jackson and Nowell back behind a brick wall. "You two should head to the dungeons, your only power is to foresee the future, um, tell me what I need to know," I rushed out quickly as I listened to them both tell me ex
