He nodded, admitting his faulty assumption and accepting the hand. “Alpha Wyatt.”
Gunny put the Jeep in gear and turned it around. As he gunned it down the road, he asked, “You know she’s lost two dogs, right?”
“Duke and Rory.”
“Yes, we also lost Marley on this last tour. Before she renamed him, Teuf was Maximus. Let’s face it, that dog is a hellhound.”
“Teufel Hunden.”
“That’s it,” Gunny said, pulling to the side of the road. “Marley and Teuf were littermates. Marley was supposed to be hers. But she took Teuf because their personalities meshed so well. Angel is more hell hound than she is an angel.”
