[Meanwhile] Penelope has been pacing for hours now, it is all ruined, all her plans never seem to see fruition and it is always the Photims, they always find their way to wiggle themselves in her business. “Mother, are you okay?” Jason asked concerned, “I am sorry, she is so strong.” “It is okay, son, we can always use those pawns to do our bidding,” Penelope chimes. “Briar and Anne Arnold are here to see you,” one of the staff announced making Penelope happy, it looks some of her pawns are ready to be used. “Let them in,” she chimes. “How are they going to help us mother, you know they are useless,” Jason asks.

Chapter 3 Penelope walked into the village with her head covered ,she was wearing a long regalia and no one could tell her identity . She had to hide what she really was because she knew how much the people hated the witches ,it doesn’t matter if she was an hybrid , she still had that looks of a witch and that didn’t make it different they just wanted her dead at all cost ,the same way that they had killed her Parents and siblings years ago ,that was something that she could never forget no matter how hard it was for her ,she was never going to forget about the cruel way that she had been treated her whole life .

I watch as Penelope peeks her head in and holds up her book as she questions, “Do you mind if I read in here now?” I shake my head no and begin to smile as I remember the book with the seductive cover that she had earlier. I try to hide my smile as I say, “Of course not. Come on in, Penelope.” She smiles as she walks in and I try not to stare, but her new outfit fits her perfectly. She wore a white lace romper that had a halter top, and her black curls were brushed toward the right side of her face.

I pick her up from the ground and hold her in the air with her feet dangling. She simply laughs at my anger. “Do you think the warlock has only one place he is hiding? He is always hiding in plain sight,” Penelope says as she coughs trying to get a breath of air. I toss her against the wall, and she slides down with a smile on her face. “You are all so naïve. You think you are protected. You were never protected,” she says.

Words that made Penelope collapse to her knees. Words that made Ava cry out in terror. Words that revealed the true price of Penelope's oath. Because the shares weren't just about money or power.
