What did the witches have in it? I wondered looking at the book in my hand, twirling the pages, and thinking hard for an answer. Until...

That he’d been lying. Aria pulled every book she could find on witches down from the shelves, stacking them around her chair until she was half barricaded in by old leather tomes. She flipped through page after page, scanning faded ink and brittle parchment. Most of it she already knew, the stories she had read before.
