The source of the flames, the torch lay fallen on its side. “Gods, what have I done?!” Mare cried, her eyes wide with panic as she shot forward to retrieve the burning torch. Perci grabbed her and at the same time, the wooden book in his hand slipped between his fingers, landing in the flames. “No!” he screamed. The book may be made from dragonwood but it was not infallible to the flames that began to lick the edges. Perci reached forward to save it, ignoring the rising fire as it consumed the dusty, dried pages of books, gaining more fuel to grow angrier.

It was as if he were telling Aria he would listen no matter how impossible it might sound. Aria saw the walls finally come down, and the ache in her chest cut even deeper. She shifted in her seat and let her voice go gentler. But she kept every word clear and sure, carrying warmth that felt like it had traveled across a thousand years. Percy then massaged the black crystal ball he was holding, it produced smoke but thank goodness, the smoke didn't seem harmful. "What do you want?!" One Alpha asked. The side of Percy's lips rose before he glanced at me. "I didn't mean to cause a war. Just grant my request and we will leave you, peacefully." "What exactly do you want, Percy?!" Fenris groaned. "Fuck this! Since when did you become Darkesta's dog?" Percy laughed so hard, that it echoed on the whole ground. "Oh mind you," he shrugged, still chuckling. "I am not anyone's dog, Fenris. I am my own master."

The tugging sensation begins again, growing more and more intense as I continue to hold on, as the feeling intensifies I close my eyes and let it take me where it will. Splat! I make the mistake of gasping for breath and the taste of both mud and excrement fill my mouth. Spitting, I stand up noticing in the journey that I have dropped the pendant. Taking a look around, I wonder if this is where the heir has been hidden all this time. Reaching down I pick up the pendant and wipe it off on my cloak.
