Trisha heard Mrs Perry complain as she glided through shelves teemed with ages-old books before she could be pulled into hours-long conversation with the old lady. She picked up a book from a dilapidated shelf, blew off the dust that had found solace on it's leather covering over the years, and squinted— because of the poor illumination, to see the books name. ‘Wizards Can Do More’ by one of the greatest wizards ever, LP Travis. It was a book she wanted but not one she needed. Hence, she put it back in its spot among other dusty books and walked to another shelf.

If it wasn’t too late. Caleb looked down as he flew over the New York City skyline. It was complete mayhem down there. They flew down Central Park West, skirting the edge of the park, and he saw chaos both in and outside the park. Like everywhere else in the city, Central Park West, for dozens of blocks, was completely clogged with cars, smashed into each other. Passengers leaned on their horns, cursed at each other, jumped out and ran. But before they could get far, they were pounced upon by mercenary vampires. Everywhere was bloodshed. For every human, there was at least one vampire. They were crawling all over the city, like ants. And they were tearing these humans apart.

“Goddammit with this again.” A sinking sensation came to Haldir’s chest as he watched her scratch her nose. Supernaturals don’t become sick as humans do, and whatever was happening had nothing to do with a cold or allergies. “What do you mean again?” She balled her fists and cursed her nose for daring to bother her at a time like this. “Would you fucking stop! It started last night before dinner.” His already pale face drained of all color as she said the words. Even with all their learning, the children were still fresh to the supernatural world and didn’t know ancient folklore’s nuances. “Go get your fucking bags. They’re coming.”
