she said softly. And then, as if sealing her words, the book opened. A deafening roar filled the air as a swirling vortex of golden light erupted from its pages, consuming everything in its path. Wind howled around them, pulling at their clothes and hair as the light grew brighter and brighter. Lucian whimpered in Selene’s arms, burying his face in her shoulder. Selene clung to him desperately, her voice breaking as she shouted over the chaos. “I won’t let you take him!”

We stood locked, eye to eye, teeth gritted, muscles straining. Then, through the clash of steel and storm, he hissed, “Who are you?” I met his stare and grinned, despite the blood on my lips. “Don’t you remember?” I whispered. “I’m Zevarion, the god of lightning.” At that moment. A jagged bolt of lightning split the sky and struck between us with a blinding flash. The sheer force sent Xareth hurtling across the courtyard, his body crashing into the stone with a sickening thud. He coughed, blood staining his lips. But I was still standing.

Whip those shifters into shape! An extremely proud dead 3rd dad, Percy. I smiled, wiping away the tears that had slipped from my eyes. I placed the red leather bound book on the table, placing the yellow leaf over it. After a minute it began to glow so I closed my eyes and after a flash of bright light I opened them back up. I flipped the book open, seeing cursive handwriting begin to emerge word by word as if it were being written before me.

“Can I have my library book back?” I looked under the shelf and tensed when I spotted The Legend of Lycaon gleaming in the shadows like some ancient relic waiting to be discovered. I picked it up, held it out, and gestured toward it. “Why do you want this?” This was not just any book. This was a Greek mythology text about the first lycan. Clara drew in a sharp breath and chewed the inside of her lip, meeting my eyes for only a second before looking away as if she feared my reaction. “Because I do …”

he said, running his hand over the pages of another book. Coral and I both shivered. A wolf with magic? I couldn’t process that. That book had caught my eye the first night I was here, but I hadn’t gotten it down. It had a dark red almost velvet like texture. We both had our gazes fixed on it. On the page there was a little boy. Suddenly Tobias took my hand and began to speak in Greek.

“It’s not a blank book see” I hold up the book to show him the page I’m currently reading. He bursts out laughing. “Well it must be written in invisible ink because all I see is a blank book” I look up at Delilah confused as she all but runs to me. “Hmm curious. Faith can you really read that book?” “Yes it’s about the history of the three fates and a some what prophets it mentions the child of light, the moon goddess’s blessed and the dark knight” Both Destin and Delilah look at each other in shock.

I hear Kenneth tell his men to prepare to fire on Bynjym, and my father to fire on Cyryl. I open my eyes. I know what I have to do. I was hesitant to pull from the thunder before, not wanting to weaken them. Now, I refuse to let these royals take my thunder from me. Kenneth cannot have Bynjym and Ryuki anymore than I will allow my father to have Cyryl. I reach my arms out on either side of me and begin to draw the power of the thunder into my body. Cyryl floats over Bynjym, offering a level of protection while still focusing on what I’m doing.

he muttered out loud into the room. Percy gave himself a few minutes to take a break, gather his thoughts before going back out to see if the men he has looking for his assassin and the cop had found anything. Right now he has John keeping eyes on things and informing him quickly if anything new comes up. Percy has his eyes closed as his thoughts took him on a journey on how to sort the mess he was in. It was paramount that he find Lightning. If the woman was to take what she knows to the wrong people, he is afraid that it would mean the downfall of the empire which he built with his blood and sweat.

With a deafening crack, the stone split open. And beyond was darkness. Cold, thick, ancient. And in the center of the room… A single pedestal. And upon it - a book. Bound in silver and gold, its cover marked with a sigil Lyra had only seen in her visions. The mark of the gods. Killian exhaled sharply. “The First Queen’s own account. Her words.” Lyra stepped forward, her hands trembling as she reached for it. As soon as her fingers touched the cover - the world shifted.
