Cassandra let out a soft, almost imperceptible sigh. “Come, my dear.” She urged, her voice a gentle coaxing. Perseus, without hesitation, dropped his book of rhymes, the pages fluttering softly as it fell. He moved to her, settling onto her lap, a small, trusting weight. She wrapped him in a warm, protective embrace, her arms a sanctuary. “You’ll be okay, you’re not sick… it’s just something you’re born with. And you’ll get better soon.” Her words were meant to soothe, but even I could detect the underlying current of fear.
