Giovanni exhales through his nose, his fingers tightening into a fist at his side. “She’s…” He hesitates, then, too quickly he says, “She’s my Personal Assistant. From back in the north.” My breath catches. A personal assistant? The woman tilts her head slightly. “Your PA?” She looks amused. I grip my coat tighter. “I…” “She’s quite young for a Personal Assistant to you, John, isn’t she?” The woman steps forward, the cape shifting over her shoulder. I catch a glimpse of bare skin underneath. She's naked. Her smirk deepens. “How old are you, dear?”

Ariel’s face went pale, her hand gripping her lipstick tightly. "Julian Vane is a lot of things," Valeria continued, her voice dropping to a dangerous, quiet calm. "But he has never belonged to anyone. Not five years ago, and definitely not to a girl who has to threaten reporters just to keep his attention. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a story to write. She has features that remind me of someone from Egypt. “This woman needs to be brought back to me. She owes me a debt — and your mother, too. I also suspect she may be involved in whatever happened to Nova.”

The little girl looked at Helena distrustfully. "really? You thought I was busy or you didn't call me because you already found a replacement" she then stared at Ava disdainfully. "of course not, how could anybody replace you, nobody is qualified enough to do that" Helena said in an appeasing manner. Helena turned to Ava, "this is Vivian, she wants to be a physician when she grows up so she follows me everywhere" Ava looked down at Vivian who was currently glaring at her. She bent down to the little girl's height.

The entertainer giggled, sashaying over to Patrick and practically draping herself over his injured shoulder, acting as if her bones had turned to water. Patrick shot up like he’d been electrocuted. "Lady Serena! What is the meaning of this?" Serena feigned surprise. "Oh, my apologies. I forgot. Patrick Pei is the Capital's most honorable gentleman. Pure as driven snow." She waved her hand. "Come back here, darling. Don't soil him."
