Perspective In Reading Novels & Stories

Across the room, Claire’s face was a mask of displeasure, but Derek was watching Leah again with a thoughtful, calculating expression. Professor Alden stepped back to the center of the stage. “You all demonstrated strong reasoning today,” he said, closing his folder. “But some of you demonstrated something more important: Perspective. In leadership, perspective is what separates a decision from a reaction”. He announced that the results would be released tomorrow and dismissed the room. As the chairs scraped against the floor, Leah felt a strange mix of relief and lingering tension. The second stage was over, but the shadows of the competition were only growing longer.

He drew the desk height below the eye level and the page surface at the attending distance. He thought about what the reader's eye level required. He thought about the attending gaze — the reader looking at the page, the gaze directed downward at the reading angle. He thought about the peripheral view of the reading person: not the page, the peripheral. He thought about what the reading person saw in the peripheral — the desk surface and the neighbouring desks and the floor and the ceiling and the west wall. He thought about the peripheral view as the frame of the attending — the things the reading person did not attend to directly but which held the attending, the context of the deep readin

"From the material. Because the material is the present." "What gives you distance?" Dante asked. Elian thought. "You do," he said. "When I tell you something that happened in the writing and you give me the structural reading of it. You see it from outside." He paused. "You give me the perspective I can't have by myself." Dante looked at him. "I didn't know I was doing that."

And I needed to be confident enough to share my opinion - even if it's a differing one. "Well," I started. "I do agree that it was pretty hard on MaHolland having to deal with all that. But then, I think that rather than analyzing the text from the perspective of love being heart wrenching, we should rather use the perspective of love being pure; love in its purest state." "Really?" She asked, eyes sparkling with curiosity. She really had such pretty ey... "Why do you say so?" She added, cutting off my swoony session.

•───⋅☾ ☽⋅───• POINT OF VIEWS - POVs. This book is written with both the main male character’s (MMC) and main female character’s (FMC) perspectives. However, I’ll include these viewpoints only when they fit the story. I won’t add the MMC’s or FMC’s POV just for the sake of it, especially if it doesn’t match the scene or the mystery of the plot. I know some readers might want more of the MMC’s POV, and while I understand that, every choice is made with the story’s development in mind. Each perspective is used to help the story flow and keep the suspense. Thank you for understanding and enjoying the ride.

I saw his face change—saw the concern flash across his features before he could hide it. I must look really bad if even he couldn't hide his reaction. I sat down at the window seat and dug out my notebook. My hand shook as I attempted to write out the date on the top of the page. The numbers came out shaky and wrong. "Today we're going to talk about narrative perspective," Derek said. "The contrast between what characters know and what the audience knows. The principle of dramatic irony." I tried to focus, tried to take notes, but the words seemed to swim on the page.

"Is that a bad thing?" "Of course, it's not. I actually like those people who love to read books. Their minds... I like the depth of their way of thinking. Complex but full of wisdom, and they know to view things in different angles or perspective. In my many years of existing, I have only met some people with that mind depth. Most of them are writers and bookworms." "I also think that way," I said. It really feels good to have someone who has the same perspective as yours. You know, talking about something is different from talking about something that concerns you in a way that both of you have the same way of viewing the topic.

"The book needs all the relationships. The accumulation is not just the accumulation of things in places. It is the accumulation of ways of seeing. The book has to hold all of them." "Then Istanbul is the piece that opens the argument up," Ernest said. "The estate piece established the insider's view. Norway and Greece established different kinds of outsider views. Istanbul will introduce the question of perspective itself — the fact that every view is a view from somewhere, that there is no view from nowhere, that even the attempt to understand the inside view is itself an outside view with its own limitations and its own affordances."

I went around, finding books everywhere, until I decided to sit and start to read. "She sent him a quick interesting look. 'In what way?'. She read the book out loud. "You have the advantage of seeing the people around you without having your own emotions color what you see. Observation without prejudice. It might be an interesting way to undertand yourself." She heard Fauve said the next few lines of Reeve Macgee of the story she's reading. "You already read this, haven't you?" I cite the obvious. He just smiled at me and shrugged his shoulders.
