I Want You Back

The dance floor was a sea of bodies, the music a pulsing wave that drowned out everything else. Summer threw her hands up, spinning in a circle, her blonde hair catching the lights. Peter pulled me against him, his hands on my hips, and we moved together, the rhythm syncing our steps. His smile was all I could see, his eyes locked on mine, and for a few blissful minutes, I let myself forget—Abby, the suspension, the guilt. It was just us, the music, the heat of his touch.
