~~PEYTON~~ “Merry Christmas, Princess," Axel chirps out of nowhere, his eyes bright with a mischief that usually means trouble for my sanity. "Merry Christmas," Raphael adds. “I trust Axel didn't wake you too abruptly?" "He tried to eat my face, if that's what you mean," I say dryly. I look past him toward the tree, and my jaw nearly hits the floor. It’s not just a few gifts. It’s an avalanche—gold paper, silk ribbons, and boxes so big I could probably hide inside them.

Now, on Christmas Eve, he was alone in the cold, surrounded by strangers who were celebrating with their families. He wanted that too. A family. To call his own. As he stood there, shivering in the cold, Andrew made a wish. He wished for a family, one that would love him and accept him for who he was. And then, something strange happened. A shooting star streaked across the sky, and a warm light began to glow around him. Suddenly, he found himself in a different place, a place where Christmas was in full swing. There were carolers singing in the streets, and people were laughing and smiling as they carried packages home.

~ New York City, 2002~ It was Christmas, the most wonderful time of the year! New York City's streets were decked out with stunning lights and plants. Stephanie stood in front of the Rockefeller Center plaza, marveling at the gorgeous Christmas tree. Thousands of light bulbs were used to ornament the tree, which was capped with a new Swarovski star. Stephanie's wavy black hair flowed loosely on her shoulders as she gazed up and stared at the star with a big smile on her face.

"I'm back with Taren." Taren extended his hand. "It's nice to see you again." "The pleasure is mine," Mr. Cummings replied, shaking his hand. "What can I do for you today?" Taren glanced over at Kiki and then turned back to the man who looked so much like Santa Claus. "Christmas presents." "Christmas is over," he replied. Taren nodded, his lips curling into a smile. "Yes, but we didn't get to celebrate properly, so we're going to make up for it tonight."

I curled up with Chris in his bed as we watched a movie. He’s been worried about me over the past week, which I feel bad about. I hate worrying everyone. Chris surprised me with a home-cooked dinner and a movie; A Journey Back to Christmas, my favorite Christmas movie ever. I sighed as we watched, “What’s wrong?” Chris asked; I shook my head, but Chris was not about to take that for an answer. He paused the movie and straightened up, waiting for me to talk to him.

A lady wearing a dark woolen cloak with flaming red hair asked, “What would you say to the creator?” I wipe my tears of laughter as I look her in the eyes. She is very pale, with gothic makeup and soulful eyes. I sense that I can be honest with her. “Well, first,it's brilliant. It reflects the dark side of this holiday. It shows the enslavement of reindeer, the oppression of elves and the self-serving nature of one man who takes all of the credit. Also, I'm glad there isn't a cross or a baby Jesus in sight.”

“That sounds like a wonderful idea.” His lips met hers, and Pooch yipped in glee as all three of them got their Christmas wish--to be together for Christmas.
