A slim Patek Philippe watched silently from his wrist. He adjusted the Cartier dark shades over his eyes, despite the fading sky. Just as he moved forward, his phone buzzed in his palm. He glanced down. The screen lit up with a name he hadn’t saved—Caleb, identified by Truecaller. He let the phone ring once more before answering, lifting it slowly to his ear. “Xup, bro?” The sound of the voice pulled his expression taut. His brows narrowed slightly, and he stopped walking. The tone was relaxed, almost careless, but unmistakably familiar.
